We got to the hotel and the elevators were dirty and smelly, the front desk area was smelly. The rooms are not very clean. There was no hot water. And the hotel is under renovations which means work is being done in the building which is all covered and looks under construction between 8:30 to 17:00 no one informed us in advance....no air-conditioning and can't shower ..not enough towels, water comes out of the shower all over and nothing to dry it with.nOnly thing good about this place is the location.
I booked a Standard Plus room, which should include a top-floor location, a king-size bed, a coffee machine, and premium Wi-Fi. I was initially checked into a noisy standard room on the second floor and, after querying this, moved to a family room on the top floor that still did not meet the Standard Plus specification.nnIt was clear that no Plus rooms were available, but this was not communicated openly and no refund of the price difference was offered. The premium Wi-Fi code was only provided after I asked.nnLocation was good for Maidenhead Station and nearby parking. Some rooms very noisy but the one I was moved to was quiet.
I recently stayed at the Maidenhead Travelodge and was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided. A special mention goes to Deepen from the night team, whose professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help made a significant difference to my stay.nWhile there are clearly some ongoing infrastructure improvements taking place, these had minimal impact on my overall experience. The hotel staff maintained a welcoming atmosphere throughout, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.nI would not hesitate to stay here again and highly commend Deepen and the team for their exceptional customer service.
Paid to stay at the hotel in April, I used the car park around the corner on the side street which they provide as their recommendation for overnight parking at a £7 charge. I paid for parking, the hotel room was substandard, pubic hairs on the bed, floor around the bed was dirty, the shower was dirty with long wet black hairs still in it. After a very long day travel from up north and working in the area I cleaned the bed went to sleep. The mattress was not comfortable at all, hard mattress did my back no favours in my early thirtys. After a week I got a notification from the car rental company telling me of a parking charge. They charged my card £35 and told me I can only have this back if the fee is cancelled. I disputed the charge as I paid for parking and the car park Travelodge recommended to use have said they will reduce the fee from £100 to £15. If I paid this I won't get the £35 back from enterprise as I will have paid £15 to the parking company.nnI called Travelodge direct today and a European guy who spoke little English sounded french stopped me before I could even explain why I needed his help, and he told me yesterday parking is around the side which they recommend if I want to book a stay then to go online... I asked him to listen as what he said had nothing to do with why I've called. After explaining he said go online find their number and call them he can't help. Absolutely useless.nnI again asked to speak to someone else if he can't help me as he clearly wasn't interested in listening at all. He said to call back in the morning and ask for the manager she can help, I asked for a name to ask for and he said he can't give it me.nnWhat even is this generation we live in. People refuse to give a name out? What can I do with this other than ask to speak to that person. Absolutely pathetic and immature.nnSo parking cost me £7, they want another £15 and the rental company sniped £35 from my account without my permission so £57 on parking if I pay the 15 fee the hotel room was £48 for one night.nnMental. This world and country is a complete scam.nnTravelodge DO BETTER!
Be warned the hotel has no aircon....May heatwave and a fan...room was very basic only 2 plugs. Bed was comfy though, its not the cleanest but ok for one night wouldn't stay for any longer. Check in staff we nice. I'm not sure why they only serve alcohol from 11pm......
