Having been largely abandoned by the RAC from 2pm to 10.30pm, I booked into the Travelodge online and walked in, a couple of minutes after. £36 for a last minute Sunday night, good value. Room key handed over and slept well. Thanks Travelodge - right place, right time.

I don't normaly do travel lodge but this one was cheep and close to draton manor The room was cleen (family room ) bathroom was ok the bath was quite stained and there was hair In the plug needed to ask for loo roll after about 10 mins of being there but staff were lovely Would u go back ? .... maybe for one night as a stop off

This place is as the rough end of functional. The guy greeting us was really helpful, polite and welcoming. His presence was reassuring, however could not compensate for the sub par quality of the establishment itself. Bedrooms we're sizable, three of us in 1 room for £55 is nothing to be sneezed at but.... Single beds felt like metal springs wrapped in toilet paper. Not comfortable. Carpet and general decor had that used and slightly unsanitary feel. I kept my shoes on when walking on the carpets for fear of getting stuck. There was definitely an unexplained stickiness on the carpet. Finding the place was a little awkward if your Northward bound as you have to head out the back of the main venue on to local roads. Took us a while to find it, guided only by pictures of beds that eventually vanish with out trace. When exiting there was barely enough room in the corridor for the cleaners trolly and my bag, twas toight!!!! Don't know who had been in the room that was being cleaned either, but if the poor lass performing miricles to return the room to a livable standard wasn't wearing some form of breathing apparatus she will have needed resuatating! There is ample parking which is a winner, but one may in the future be tempted to save the cash and crash in the car. Would also reduce the risk of any unwanted skin infections. If I could offer you any advice, it would be to find somewhere else. Failing that, make sure you wash your hands after using the TV remote!

Clean room with very comfortable bed giving a great nights sleep. Staff friendly. Plenty of tea and coffee. The hotel is tucked away in the corner of the services which is a good thing as you don't notice the motorway. The only downside for me is that the hotel is rather dated now but from what I could tell it is purely cosmetic. Would definitely return if looking for a reasonably priced one or two night stay.
