We showed up with no booking and were given a warm welcome and a table found straight away. Staff were polite and didn't hover over us while we settled in. Meals ordered were Cannelloni and a Mushroom Pizza. Both delicious and value for money. Desserts were lovely and a good selection to choose from. Would definitely recommend and we will go back.
Lovely atmosphere, tasty meal, fantastic portion sizes and lovely service. Will definitely be back for more!Food: 5/5
Unfortunately the food is tasteless. We get fries and boiled veg with pasta that's not seasoned, and when asking for sauces it's obvious they use Heinz sauces for tartare and alioli. Shame really as I previously had a good meal in there a year or so ago. Service appears to be better for regulars who were asked how their meal was and offered water neither of which we got. Also the seat was wet and the solution offered by the waiter was to turn the cushion over. We won't be going back.
We were there for lunch. 5 adult and 1 children. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely restaurant. Lunch came with salad and a main pasta/ pizza , many options! . It was 55gbp per person. This is the best cost per value restaurant we ever had in the UK. Booking is advised as they could be very full.
Went for a birthday meal and I could not have wished for a nicer experience from a restaurant. Staff were friendly, food was amazing and reasonably priced too. Would definitely visit again.Food: 5/5
Food was ok... Average. Service was welcoming and good. Place was noticeably worn but felt cosy and busy.Food: 3/5
Absolutely LOVE Toppogigios, superb family restaurant, my family has been going here since my brother and I were children. HOWEVER we recently ordered a pizza takeaway and the pizzas were thick and doughy, not like the thin crispy authentic ones that we normally have, I wonder if I made a mistake and didn’t order thin & crispy.Food: 3/5
What a disappointment lunch was today. I have been eating there for 25 years plus but todays trip was awful. The food was good as it always had been but the atmosphere and service was awful from the minute we arrived until we were basically told to hurry up and leave whilst having coffees! The staff were extremely rude and unfriendly. I took a friend who hadn’t been for years and she said she will never go back! They were stressed as they were really busy, but if they can’t cope don’t squeeze in so many tables. We were constantly being knocked by people trying to squeeze past us when leaving. Wish I had chosen somewhere else for my birthday lunch . Won’t be back .
It's like a trip back to the 80's and not in a bad way. Very typical Italian restaurant with very tasty traditional Italian food. Great atmosphere.Food: 5/5
I visited Topogigio on Friday 6 March 2020 in the early evening, a weekday during term time. I was with a party of sixteen. This was my second visit. The restaurant comprises of one cozy and tightly packed main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service. The team were friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and enjoyed the experience. I had garlic bread with mozzarella for my starter, a ham and pineapple pizza for my main course and a mint choc chip sundae for dessert. The food was well presented and tasted OK - it was all perfectly adequate but not much more. The garlic bread with mozzarella was quite bland, the pizza was nice and the "sundae" was basically two scoops of mint choc chip ice cream with two tiny squirts of cream on top with a near £7 price tag. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. I'd say the food was generally average value for money but the desserts were overpriced. Overall everything was OK. I like supporting local business but this was nothing more than average really, I'm sorry to say. The service was good - the staff were all very attentive and polite and, especially considering we were a larger party, everything came out in a timely manner.
