Went for a birthday meal here last week. Table of four of us, so we chose the Set Menu for four. There was more than enough choice of amazing dishes. Would thoroughly recommend going here for a lovely meal.
We were staying a mile up the road on holiday and picked up a takeaway from here on our first night. It was so good that we got it again on our last night! And when I say good, I mean phenomenal. Probably the best Thai takeaway I've ever had, and up there with some of the best takeaway I've had. I had the Phad Ped Gae - it was colourful, full of flavour, and the quality of the slow cooked lamb was just perfect. I also tried bits of everyone else's, and without exception, they were delicious. Also worth mentioning the wonderfully friendly and helpful service, and the excellent packaging with a cling film extra wrap to prevent leakage and clearly labelled dishes. What a fantastic find this place was. A gem in an unexpected location.

Lovely authentic Thai Food! Interior is cute and you do get that feeling your eating in an authentic Asian restaurant. I had the vegetable spring rolls for starter and the chunky in-house made chips, chicken and jasmine egg rice. The biggest thing for me that really bothered me was the fact that the poor wee server was having to run back and forth to the door to lock and unlock it every time someone came for their dinner booked, I never seen any walk ins...because you can't just walk in and we were sat just near the door. Seemed very odd given the restrictions are lifting? And also a little humiliating for the server and paying customers. Imagine having to knock on the door to get into a Restaurant? Never seen anything like it. I suggest you get rid of this rule and allow free movement in and out of an unlocked door. Yes it's a small place and you might be concerned of "COVID", but many/all businesses are just dealing with it now. Not by locking their doors and having staff answer it anytime someone wants in for a booked table or not and takeaway. Good food, nice staff and shame about the rules.
We came for lunch on Easter Sunday and had such a lovely experience. The flavour in all of the dishes was delicious and so well put together. Robert and Tino are the most hospitable hosts. We all left with warmth in our hearts and smiles on our faces. Would thoroughly recommend. Don't miss out!
Fantastic food at reasonable prices and a large menu to choose from. Very impressed with the service, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Kid-friendliness: Our 2 year old granddaughter was with us and they were really good with her, they seemed to enjoy having her there which is not the case in many restaurants
OK-ish. You can't expect much from a Thai restaurant in rural Devon, and we didn't, so luckily we weren't disappointed. Food is good but simple. Small option of fried mushrooms for our 21 mo son was disgusting to be honest, mushrooms had no flavour and were dripped in so much batter even a Scotsman would give it a pass. Vegetarian options: Not that vegetarian/vegan friendly. They have a special menu for it, but the food from it isn't recommendable. Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair, but the toilet just one is outside imagine the British weather and has no changing facilities.
I had visited this Restaurant with my very good friend Ian. The hospitality by Robert and Tino is very cordially. The Restaurant has a very nice ambience. The dishes on offer are an absolute delight. I would be very happy if i had the opportunity to eat there again. I would love to have more than five Stars here. My best Regards from Germany . Cheers , Michael ‍
We arrived on Monday afternoon for a 3 night stay at the CAMC. We had eaten a late lunch and about 6pm decided to go for a walk in the town. Having eaten at the Tongdam in 2019 we hoped to go again during our stay. As it happens they close now on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays so our only option would be that night even though we were not really hungry but we really did not want to miss out. Millie sp?was able to offer us a table and we just had a main dish each. It was very busy but the lovely lady took it all in her stride. She is due to go travelling soon and I am sure that both Robert and Tino will miss her front of house professionalism greatly. Do not miss this lovely gem when visiting Dulverton and/or the area.
Just checked into our self catering cottage for a week and had booked the Tongdam ahead. They are only taking bookings outside at the moment but the ambiance was excellent. The food was even better! Superb starters and Mains to die for. Try this place as it is superb...!!
