What a wonderful surprise! Stopped on a whim for lunch. 5 star meal and service .. loved the funky decor Plenty of parking available and if it wasn't foggy I would suggest a gentle stroll down the river ..
Came here for the black Tuesday, some meals were 50%. I had the fishcakes to start Sausage and mash for the main, it came with cabbage and onion rings, the mash was so creamy and soft. Pudding was plum frangipani, with cinnamon ice cream, plums and ginger cream. Would recommend going, but go on black Tuesday, so that you get money off your menu.
Visited for Sunday lunch. Service was very efficient, staff were lovely. Very attentive. The food..? EXCELLENT!!! We had Korean Fried Cauliflower KFC! and Roasted Cauliflower Soup served with cheese croquettes and truffle Oli. Both were awesome! Fit mains, we plumped for the Sunday Roast. One chicken and one beef. Really happy with the quality
If you can stay awake long enough through the painfully slow service the food is mediocre at best. We were seated right next to another table of 2 despite there being plenty of free tables, that remained free through our dinner. It’s so frustrating when tables of 2 are clumped together like sardines, there’s no privacy. It took ages for some one to take our drinks order, by which time we were ready to order food, only to be told someone else had to take that order. Starters eventually came out after being seated nearly an hour, monkfish was ok but overpowered by wasabi so you couldn’t even taste it. The chicken main course was delicious and the reason I’m giving the 2 stars. Garlic bread sauce was lovely and pancetta dauphinois was yum. We eventually decided to have desserts despite the slow service putting us off. What a disappointment. An £8 rum baba which consisted of a dry bit of brioche no syrup like a rum baba should be soaked in with flavourless coconut sorbet and a bit of fruit. I’ve had better rum babas from local bakeries! We eventually managed to pay after the disinterested waitress finally got round to fetching our payment. So disappointed, we’d been eyeing up the restaurant for a long time and it’s a beautiful place, but sadly lacking in service and food!
A lovely place with great food and friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit. Food was presented beautifully and was very tasty. The only downside was that we were repeatedly asked whether we wanted more drinks which became a little invasive. We all received a tiny bottle of gin, as we were all mum's on Mother's Day, and a 20% voucher off another meal before middle of May. What's not to like?! I hope to use my voucher soon
We came here for my Mother's 80th birthday meal. It was superb! I didn't want a roast dinner but had the most magnificent halibut with black garlic mash and two delightful sauces. The roasts looked amazing too!. Superb service. Vegetarian options: Vegan too
We needed a quick bite on Mother's day and everything was booked up. This venue let us have a table at short notice prior to the booking turning up where the one next door didn't even though there was no one in there yet. Really friendly place and staff. Lovely food and service.Food: 5/5
Disappointing. Over 1 hour wait for food to arrive. Finished drinks when it came, not good. Food okay but why put risotto with a pork chop? January sale menu a gimmick. Very little choice. Room cold. Put our coats back on after a few minutes in an attempt to keep warm. Won't return in a hurry
Lovely restaurant, drinks service was slow, food service was fast. We received our drinks after our food. We all had the roast, I had beef roast which was £16.50. For the price I was put off, there was only one carrot, two roast potatoes and two small carvings of meat. The beef was dry, the gravy was thin and the horse raddish mousse just tasted watered down. Over all disappointed.
Service slow and all round shocking. Fetched our own drinks from the bar twice as sat for ages an no-one bought them over. Garlic sauce missing from chicken main. Won't returnFood: 3/5
