Hi Alex, thanks for responding and looking into it. Unfortunately, I can't remember when exactly this was, or even who the staff were; and I don't really want to get anyone in trouble. Maybe some just need training, but at the same time, you can't fake it. And a couple of the staff just look like they're doing community service. I still go there sometimes for bread, but not for anything else, and that'll change when some other place opens up, because why should I be loyal to a place that doesn't care for my business. And I'm really not hard to please. So hope you can nip this, because at least you seem to care. And while you're at it, why do you keep running out of everything by midday? :) ..... I live round the corner, so I drop in for bread and toasties fairly often. Usually, it's the standard friendly service, but lately I've had a few really poor experiences. First, I was kept waiting at the counter at a time it wasn't busy at all for an exceptionally long time when staff wasn't busy. I said something about that to the till operator and next thing I know, I go home and find half of order (couple of toasties) not included despite being charged full amount. Next time I go in, nearing closing time, only few people seated while staff cleaning. Again, kept waiting at counter for about 5 mins while two staff have a nice chat right in front. Studiously ignoring me. I politely cough to get attention. Looks at me and continues conversation. I waited till they were done, expecting one to come over, but they go about other work. I had to finally call out really loudly and say, Hi! May I have some service? Ridiculous. And one less regular family of customers. Keep it up.

Coffee and cake were lovely but staff unbelievably rude in response to being told (politely) the order was wrong. Acted like they were doing us a favour by getting the correct order and couldn't handle being wrong. Sums up what's wrong with customer service in parts of London. Shame. Thanks for your response below Alex. This happened today and the order was the peanut butter and banana. The server walked off in a huff when I pointed out politely that she brought the wrong item (butter and I'm vegan).

Amazing sourdough bread, great place to have a soup and a sandwich. Great coffees too! Not very cheap but it's artisan bread and it's worth paying more money for. This used to be a council office; it's now a great addition to Walthamstow! "Less bankers, more bakers".

Excellent sour dough bread. All their food is prepared using organic ingredients. The food always tastes fresh. The bakers are lovely people and you can see that they make bread with love and care. Their coffee tastes much much better than that served by chain cafes like Costa and Starbucks.😀 Its a bit pricey and I dont mind paying the price for such good stuff but it does mean that I cannot buy from there as often as I would like to. 😕

Just had the most delicious takeaway soy cappuccino from here! Loved how strong it was and so much flavour 👌 very nice. Only 4* as I have only tried this one thing. One thing I would say, for this price, maybe make the takeaway cups a little bigger 😉
