Toby Carvery Strathclyde Park

About

Here at Toby Carvery Strathclyde Park, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly.

Story

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Motherwell's favourite carvery restaurant.

Was served by Caroline who we know from previous visits and she is always cheery welcoming and friendly. I highlighted to her we were very impressed with the recent refurbishment it's lovely. I also asked her to pass on to the chefs and kitchen staff the meal was cooked to perfection every single item. The best meal we have had in a long time. We'll done everyone. Would highly recommend Toby Carvery in Strathclyde Park to anyone n guarantee you will not be disappointed thank you for an excellent meal in lovely surroundings
We had an excellent birthday party for 22 people. The food was excellent and the staff were so helpful and pleasant, particularly Aimee/Amy who went above and beyond her duties to make sure we were so well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made so welcome. Everyone had a great time.
Became regulars over the last few months and this place is perfect, from the staff down the food. Just celebrated my birthday here today and was served by Stuart and Taylor who were both a delight. The portion sizes are great as well, not too much to feel like a waste and not very little either, perfectly fills you up, as well as the mash potatoes are beautiful! This place is amazing and everyone should check it out.
Our wedding reception venue became unavailable at short notice, so quickly had to find an alternative for our small reception, so we booked the Meeting Room at Toby Carvery. Before booking, we had a consultation with Sharon and discussed our plans for the meal and table settings. The night before the wedding, we took our wedding cake and decorations in. On arrival after our wedding, we gasped in amazement and joy, because Sharon had decorated the whole room beautifully and it was way beyond our expectations!!! She looked after us all so well and it was a day to remember! All the staff were really lovely and made our day extra special. Thanks again Sharon, you were amazing! From Rakesh and David.
Staff were pleasant and polite, reservation confirmed and shown to a table quickly. Server came straight away and took drinks order. I had a question about the voucher I had it was answered to my satisfaction. 50% off main course deal was very good. Don't think anything could have been done to improve our visit. Parking: Busy but still ample parking space available.
The Toby Carvery has just reopened the day I went. They are doing their best to get it up and running and I'm sure it will improve. But at the time I went, the beer lines drew flat or bad tasting beer and that needed to be addressed before the pub was opened. The service was good and the staff are a happy bunch.
WE LOVED IT. The staff are extremely welcoming and gave us directions as we have never been there before. Food was unique In a good way although the beef was overcooked dry and I would recommend the Yorkshire puddings as they were delicious but could be larger although they did offer us multiple which was really kind and a thoughtful gesture.
I love a good meal, I've been dining at some posh places of late which have cost me an arm and leg! Ended up going here a few weeks ago for the Sunday carvery & wow it was amazing the girl that served us was super cheerful and very nice. I returned again a few weeks later as I enjoyed it that much before, once again brilliant food and a different server this time, but very good attitude and was nice as well. Both visits I'm sure were like £30 for 2 of us! Absolute bargain and highly recommend the food. My 2nd visit they could have probably been doing with another member of staff to help cut the meat.. but apart from that I can't complain.
I’m giving it a one, but it’s a solid one. Redeemed only by the excellent Christmas decorations. My partner ordered the chicken liver pate which was served with a “cucumber and orange salad”. This salad consisted of three pieces of cucumber. And that’s it. I ordered a cocktail, which came without the addition of mint, strawberries, cucumber and lemon, which was how it was described in their drinks menu. I ordered the same drink again, thinking it was an oversight. It was not. The second time it was in a smaller glass and still without the fruity additions. My starter was allegedly a “Pigs in Blankets Stuffed Yorkie”. It was a microwaved Yorkshire pudding with three of the tiniest pigs in blankets, a sliver of soft cheese and no cranberry sauce. Eat here if you’re happy to get half of what you ordered. And what you do get is old, microwaved and tastes like the inside of an old fridge.
The beef was very nice and tender, much improved on previous visits. Cauliflower was again much better and nicely cooked, found to be underdone and hard in the past.. The addition of dumpling in gravy was found to be tasty plus.. Excellent value for money..
