I arrived nice and early and I was greeted by a friendly member of staff that told me where to get food and drinks. I found a table and went for the breakfast. Food was good and there was plenty of it. I didn't see any black pudding but I would be picky. The potato, cheese and onion hash I think was amazing. I went up for a second round.nnThank you! Excellent price for what you get.

Visited 2pm on a Sunday so very busy. 4 of us went & service was great. A little wait but not long for drinks. By the time we got our Carvery the drinks had arrived. Very attentive waitress so service was good. Being busy, the food was freshly cooked & we all enjoyed it.

I had taken my 2 1/2 yr old grandson to a muddy woodland play area and at the end of it he was hungry. we couldn't get back to his house on Upper Brighton road because there had been a serious accident and the road was as closed so we phoned his mum and met her at the Toby. We obviously hadn't booked but they found us a table although they were really busy. Yay! We ordered some food for him and the waitress was lovely and said she would bring it over so we didn't have to queue! Yay! The food was awful! Sausages hard and inedible .. Yorkshire pudding likewise .. but he did eat the beans! Yay! I did have a carvery which was OK but my daughter is gluten free and by the time I came back with my meal and she'd found out what she could eat there my grandson had finished his beans and wanted to go. No chips on the kids menu? It's a treat for him when they do eat out as he never has them at home! Come on Toby .. cater for the little ones and the grown ups will be happier .. Also print the allergies on the main menu and my daughter could have eaten as well! As it was, we went home and then had to feed them both again! Cost me £20+ and is an extra xperience I won't repeat!

Mum loves a carvery , thought we would give this place a go , sadly this place just feels unloved , dirty and worn out , food oknNice staff , good value .

This review is mainly for the wonderful lady we had serving us, Claire. So bubbly despite the fact she was rushed off her feet! Still had time for a pleasant conversation- well done girl. Those tables were so busy for you and you handled it like a boss.nFood was great
