The Tickled Trout in Bearsden is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character.

Story

A little pub history - The land on which the inn stands was originally purchased by the owner of Boclair Farm in Milngavie and began life as a shop selling vegetables grown on the farm. The Antonine Wall, built after Hadrian's Wall, runs nearby and a Roman bath house was found a mile to the west of the pub at Bearsden. Also found, at the near by Chapel Hill, were altars and religious stones with Roman inscriptions. A mix of The Tickled Trout's location, character and history attracts many visitors. The River Allander that flows through the town has played an important part in its development and fly-fishing is a popular pastime.

Thanks to Holly and Lynsey who waited on us at the Tickled Trout on Saturday 9th March. All staff could not have been any nicer, helpful or more courteous. Holly was really busy and took lots of time with us. Made my mother in law's day, and ours. The food was excellent. I always have had a lovely meal here but haven't been for a few years. It was a lovely surprise to see the restaurant still here and busy. We had possibly the best starter ever chicken bites, fish was so fresh, tasty and substantial. The home cooked chips to die for. We managed desserts and the chocolate honey pot provided a lot of laughs, we weren't sure if it was all completely edible. It was! We were a bit cold from a day's shopping and the bar staff/manager put the fire on immediately, we stayed for hours. Had such a great afternoon, laughed continuously and felt extremely welcome. Thanks all at the Tickled Trout for a lovely day. We will be back soon, Tracey & family xx Parking: Plenty space at the restaurant and the wider garden centre area. Nicely appointed disabled parking bays. Kid-friendliness: Seen children and dogs, all so friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: We were helpfully moved to a table near the accessible facilities, nothing too much trouble.
Family lunch. Very relaxed atmosphere and nothing a problem. Everyone happy with food including the 2 dogs. Thanks to our servers Scott, Jack and Nathan, very efficient and great guys. And the chefs Ross and Drew for the lovely food. Will be back soon!Food: 5/5

Nice little pub, food and service was great, dining areas a little small so not much room around the tables. Good range of beers. Parking: No time limit in the evening for street parking
Brilliant setting, menu is excellent, wide range suiting most tastes. Staff incredibly helpful and attentive, really took care of clientele from start to finish. Only restaurant I have visited where the question was asked regarding allergies etc.
