Fantastic local garage, very trustworthy & helpful. All my family visit this garage and they are beyond helpful at every occasion. Recently recovered my mums car for her when she broke down and always make a special effort to help me when I have any issues, keep up the good work

We had two cars MOT'd at Tickenham; 1st no issues the 2nd had a few which is not my issue; after listing a number of items which needed sorting; engine light on, brakes, tyres at legal limit, colour of indicators, indicator effected by another lamp is a reasonable summary. I'd also provided invoices from another motor engineers regarding the engine lights which after replacing the parts as had been diagnosed the garage could then not reset the engine dash warning light. 

Now this is where my issue is:-  they then offer to change the brakes for over £200.00, a 30min job at an equipped garage, possibly less if the person doing the work is experienced. 
This was offered after telling me that replacing the brakes would not get the car through an MOT. Had it been for safety there may have been a thought however that was sadly not the case.
Hoping it was just a slip up for Tickenham but that did make me think.

Did an MOT for me very quickly when another garage let me down. Everyone I spoke to at the garage were pleasant and professional. Will use again...
Added 22/11/17 ... used this garage again and my assessment hasn't changed. Good, professional service.

DO NOT TRUST THIS GARAGE. Bought a golf last year had been told the car had been  fully serviced & checked over, along with other work I was told the water pump, turbo, brake pads, cambelt had all been replaced at tickenham garage. After a couple of months had a knocking took it to my local garage where 2 of the wheels were missing wheel nuts - one was held on by 1 nut & 1 other nut which the thread was stripped (the front wheels which so say had the brakes done). After going down to speak to tickenham to try and get some sort of payment for the cost of a new hub & an explanation the owner became very rude and aggressive - only when I carried on arguing in front of customers stating my wife & nephews life had been put in danger because of this did he say he would pay a fraction of the cost (I really should have taken it further). After further checks as I didn't trust any of the work they had carried out it turns out the water pump has not been changed, the turbo has been tampered with- the pipe had been taken off, then put back on with the clips in the wrong place the seal was gone & mechanic informed me it has defiantly not been changed. I would not ever buy a car from this place again.

For over 50 years I have used local family owned garages. I have lived in over 10 parts of the country and this garage is by far the best. They offer a friendly "can do" attitude, nothing seems to be too much of an effort for them. They have undertaken a whole range of repairs for me as well as servicing and MOTing the 3 vehicles in my family. In short HIGHLY recommended.
