Very friendly welcome. Super, tasty food which was excellent value. We had the Senior Citizen's roast deal. It was described as a small portion with a desert. If that was small, I was pleased I hadn't had the regular! Every part of the meal was delicious. Just a pity it is an hour's drive from home! Beautiful decor throughout. Really want to go again soon.
We booked this on the winter deals package and we were very impressed. From the point of check in, very welcoming staff, lovely room, clean, well furnished with top quality towels and excellent shower. Super views of the Roach. Staff very welcoming in bar area and restaurant nothing too much trouble. Food excellent as was the service. Top quality breakfast, lovely to have oatcakes available too. Plenty of choice to set you up for the day ahead. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
My partner: Lynn and I dropped in for lunch with our dog: Daisy. What a lovely pub! Great food, excellent ales and such a warm welcome. Staff courteous and kind. A great experience for us all. Several couples came in for their meals whilst we were there and it was nice to see the gracious greetings given to all. Lynn has been here twice previously, for enjoyable Spa Days and really rates the service. My family stay at The Three Horseshoes for our Clan Gatherings, so the bedrooms must be good. See for yourselves if you are passing, or make a special trip - you will not be disappointed!
What a great place , welcoming, friendly staff, lovely rooms and very clean. Food in the restaurant was very good and a decent amount. I am a big eater and I wasn't hungry afterwards. My only issue was the speed in which they served. Very quick to take your plate away. I was still chewing my last mouthful and my plate was taken before I has time to swallow. That is my only criticism. The spa was excellent and a great experience. Favourite bit was the stone bath.
Me and my husband booked a 1night spa & hot tub break for my birthday. Our room was really comfy and warm, we had our own hot tub outside which was lovely. Great nights sleep as its lovely and quite. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The next day we had a lovely experience in the spa and beauty salon. I would definitely recommend here.
Much larger place than I expected. Amazing views. A beautiful building in a picturesque setting. We had afternoon tea and it was amazing. Service was great. Its a pity i don't live close by as I would definitely visit again and try the main menu. There are many sections to the place and all we're clean and comfortable.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely location. Great views. We went for afternoon tea so can’t comment on the rest of the menu Afternoon Tea was average ! It had all the components of afternoon tea but lacked the finesse. No table cloths. Paper napkins. Canteen plates. Side plates instead of tea plates. Barely enough cream and jam for the large fruit scones.
As described, country hotel / spa / pub offering wedding venue, etc. Comfortable room, spa - Inc. hot tub - not tried, but looks good, ours had a decent view of The Roaches which is great area for walking, climbing and generally being outdoors. Good range of ales and very good food: well produced generous portions. Excellent service from friendly staff.
This is a tough one because the spa is lovely and the room with the garden hot tub was great. The room itself is maybe a little dated but in keeping with the theme. However, what let our experience down was the food. Our main courses were really poor and even though we mentioned it nothing was done about it. Also breakfast is terrible. In fact less choice than you’d get in a holiday inn. Also some of the waiting staff were less than enthusiastic shall we say. It could have been an amazing experience but the food let it down. We did have an incredible lunch at the Lazy Trout down the road which kind of saved it for us. Rooms: The garden with hot tub is lovely Food & drinks: Hit and miss mostly miss
Came for lunch with my partner one afternoon and my goodness was I pleased to see they do roast every day!! So of course, I had to try. It was really great, probably the best I’ve had in the area. While the leek gratin wasn’t my thing, I’m sure if they did cauliflower it would be much better. But that’s me being very picky. Either way, it was a good sized portion for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back again to try the Sunday roast.
