Not a bad little site. A little bit tight getting onto the pitches but ok. The facilities are good. Couple of shower rooms and a couple of toilets plus a 5th one that can be privately hired. There's only heaters in the shower rooms tho. Nothing in the toilets so could get cold in there. Never met the owners tiĺ the final day. Had to find our name on the whiteboard to determine what pitch we were on. Felt it was a bit lazy on their part. No one came by to check all was OK. Be aware there's a separate charge for the electric. Which is a new thing. As such when we plugged in didn't think to check if the meter had a reset button. Turns out we used £20 worth of electricity for 2 nights stay. This seems very excessive. Was expecting about £4 a night, especially since we were out most of both days. On top of the £33 a night, this made this an expensive stay. And for that reason I wouldn't return.
A brilliant site, closet everything but far enough away to be peaceful, hosts are lovely people very friendly and helpful. If you're taking a bike, there are plenty of hills to make your legs burn!!!
We were fortunate to find this lovely small adult only site. Being pre season we were the only ones there. Great hosts who were most obliging. Enjoyed the posh local pub and castle. Best wash facilities we have come across so would not hesitate to recommend.
Lovely, small peaceful campsite. Great facilities, EHU on each pitch and a TV aerial point too. Phone signal is nonexistent, unless you're on EE, but that adds to the feeling of getting away from it all.
Very peaceful lovely adult only site excellent shower and toilet block. Lots of walking and great scenery.
We've never been on such a small site, 12 pitches I believe and this is one of the reasons for 5 stars. Good open space for each pitch, some fully serviced, all pretty level. Then the ablutions; modern, clean, some full ensuite style this is reason 2 for 5 stars. I've read some reviews stating that there is no mobile phone signal and poor wifi. We also had no phone reception but the site wifi was very good and didn't fall over and auto reconnected everytime we returned to site, so we stayed fully connected this is reason 3. No. 4. The person managing the site did not flinch to put in daily appearances to ask if all was well or if there were any issues. In all, a great site. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Loved this site. So quite, fab walks to the castle’s, dog field and the facilities are spotless Definitely coming back
Another lovely Tranquil Parks registered site, this one very peaceful in the countryside. The whole site is compact but not cluttered, in fact the pitches seem bigger than average, and with the amenities block in the centre then everyone is within 40-50 steps of the building. Ample facilities for the 12 or 13 pitches, with 3 shower/sink/toilet rooms, and 2 separate toilets with sinks in. There's a couple of large indoor sinks to wash your pots in, along with a freezer to re-freeze your ice packs, plus washer, drier, and a few DVDs, books or jigsaws to borrow. There are no shops in the immediate vicinity so come prepared with food. The mobile signal on Vodafone and O2 is non-existent, but some on EE intermittently, so don't expect to stream TV. The aerial sockets on the pitches came in very handy, especially as the Queen's funeral was on whilst there make sure you have a long aerial cable though, 10-15 metres depending on your pitch and caravan orientation. A walk to the free castle ruins in Skenfrith is recommended, only about a mile down the lane. I'd recommend the back lane rather than main road, turn left as you come out of the campsite and then immediately right and follow that.
Lovely quiet caravan park in beautiful countryside. This Robin paid us a visit in our awning. Rescued by my wife.
Perfect little site. Lovely amenities set in a great location.
