when snow/ice is a problem of harm to students they don't give a day off to avoid potential injuries. The school is not outstanding as when they send inspectors to survey the school they act nice but as soon as they are gone it is hectic.

First of all let me start by saying that this school is nowhere near outstanding, on the days of the reveiw ~insert unamed head teacher~ simply sent all the “bad kids” away to either isolation or even to not come in, so the offstead inspector would not see them. The school as with any other is full of drug users and violent pupils, this is no surprise as almost every public school is like this. The worst part of this school is how the vast majority, notice the word majority, of teachers have absolutly no respect toward students, but of course there are good teachers as with any other school. This carries on through to the sixth form were the students are supposedly treated as “adults.” You can ask any student of the school and they will agree on the fact that it is a pretty miserable school to go to. No reason to wake up in the morning, surfing until the next half term. School should not be like this. I would love to get into the exact things this school does to make students lives miserable, but if I were to list them all I would end writing a whole book. Students have no voice, there is a student team and such but of course no major changes can be made only things that do not matter such as, “Non school uniform days” or “what food should be in the Canteen.” It seems like the teachers (especially the higher up ones) have almost no idea how to motivate young people to try and actually do well, kids in this school achieve good grades out of being forced, not self will. Punishments are overblown and unjust, the smallest things will have you serving up big punshiments even if you are right and the teacher is wrong, not a surprise as we live in a massively authortian society that just wants to create obedient workers, someone has to try and change this dire school. I hope someone actually bats an eye to read this and questions a few things. I’m sure this pretty much applies to all high schools and sixth forms across UK, the system is majorly broke something needs to be done ASAP. Not to mention the massive issue with bullying that exists.

Bullying an issue which doesnt seem to get resolved by school policies. Went to the open evening and believed in what the head teacher was selling- sadly, not to be believed! A case of all talk and no actions- teaching content is first class but control on students is non existent.
