Have just returned from a 2 night stay at No 1Hall Cottage . What can I say !! Cottage was spotless , cosy and so welcoming everything you needed was there including beautiful fluffy robes and slippers ,hot tub was great Booked in for breakfast both days absolutely 1st class fantastic choice and value for money. Customer service by Esther was faultless friendly and very approachable nothing was a bother. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return. Well done Esther your place is a hidden gem x
We recently attended a family wedding at Thomas Wright House and Esther and her staff were fantastic. They ensured everyone had a great time and that any special dietary requirements were catered for. Thomas Wright House is a great wedding location with lovely well equipped rooms along with an outside seating area with great views. The food and service were of a very high standard.
Absolutely fantastic place! My friend hosted her baby shower here and we were waited on hand and foot. The dairy free options were amazing and I couldn't of asked for better. Drinks were a good price too! A must visit!Rooms: 5/5
Staff were absolutely lovely, our room was very nice and clean. Food was so delicious we ate here every day of our stay. We only left to visit family but came back as soon as we could.. one little moan, we heard every room door shut because people didn't bother preventing them from banging when leaving or entering their rooms! Great little place, would definitely stay here again.. well, we've stayed here again, this time week days stay, restaurant doesn't open during the week but there is paper bags of everything you need to get food delivered, plates etc, and can eat in the breakfast area or garden. Still a pleasure to stay. Would definitely recommend.
Myself and my partner stayed at Thomas weight house! The week leading up to Christmas and we were not disappointed. The room was beautiful we arrived to Prosecco in the fridge and welcome drinks in the bar. The food was beautiful and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was served in our rooms and was also beautiful although we were feeling slightly delicate after one too many drinks! Recommend Thomas wright house to many friends and family. Will be returning again! Thankyou so much Elise
Lovely all round! Shame I didn't arrived at the hotel until almost 10pm due to work, loved the room and I had a great sleep. Definitely would visit again and arrive earlier next time hopefully!
Absolutely loved this place, I was born in the village and keen to try as been away 20 years, it did not let me down, room was immaculate, breakfast outstanding and staff and proprietor warm friendly and welcoming.Rooms: 5/5
This is a lovely place to stay!! I am here for one night whilst visiting some family in the north east, I got to reception minutes before the deadline for checking in at 9pm, I was greeted by extremely friendly staff that immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. In particular, one lady that was manning the reception was amazing, the bar had been closed for the night and she was due to go home to her family but, insisted on opening up to get me a a beer!!! The room is perfect, great views of hills and open countryside and has a lovely large garden at rear with plenty of tables. I will certainly be staying here again on my next trip up this way, I highly recommend it!!

Arrived at Thomas House to a lovely and Friendly welcome. Shown to a beautiful room, loving the feel off the place. Down to a nice welcome from the staff in dining served drinks whilst we looked at the menu. Sunday dinner chosen me beef husband lamb it was fabulous we were so hungry from our travels that we didn't take a photo. Into the garden room for a few drinks, Onto a good night's sleep fan provided as it was warm, The room was spotless comfortable bed, Down to breakfast next morning it was the best breakfast we have ever had. Booked to go for the weekend and again to go for a week next year. It's a great base in a lovely area. Found a real gem
