Story

Thomas More Catholic School is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form, located in the Purley area of the London Borough of Croydon, England. The Margaret Roper Primary School is located adjacent to Thomas More Catholic School.The school was established in 1962 in buildings formerly used as an orphanage. It is a voluntary aided school, under the direction of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark and Croydon London Borough Council. The school has also been awarded the International School Award, since 2008.Thomas More Catholic School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, whilst sixth form students can choose to study from a range of A Levels and BTEC Nationals.

Your children will fail and have an awful experience if they are well behaved and white. The good kids are taken for granted and no attention is paid to them. Over my 5 years here there have been countless instances and encounters with gang members and drug dealers whom the school let it slide. As a unpopular student without many friends I was referred to the counselling system where they relentlessly questioned my life and called counter-terrorism on me and I had two S0-15 police officers at my house. bear in mind that I will have that on my record for the next 5 years which may make university applications difficult. one teacher who I remember well is Mr Bowes who decided he fancied a 16 year old and managed to kiss her whilst being an employee of the school. I found a tampon in the swimming pool covered in blood. found a huge bag of weed in a hedge. someone took a dump on the floor and once the urinals overflowed flooding the bathroom with urine. A French teacher kicked a wall in and. there was often stampedes on the thin corridors. If your kid is a black member of a Croydon street gang they will be given everything in the world in that school but if they are a well behaved and white and from a good background they receive no support from the rubbish staff

Awful school, my mum come home shaking because she assisted a girl betti g beaten up by other student (Probably bigger then her). My mum described the scene has, no one was coming to help the girl that was getting beaten up. My mum described the girls face with blood everywhere... So please, don't allow your children to get into this awful school. My sisters also has been suffering bullying for a year now and she is absolutely terrified to go in and study for her future... Be aware of this school!

Whilst at this school between 2000-2005 there was two instances of rape that you will not hear about and countless amounts of bullying that was never dealt with. Drama teacher called Mr.Kingston raped a girl student in 2000 or 2001.A boy(2003 or 2004)was sexual assaulted in the boy's changing room's by another group of boys but they did what they could to keep it quiet from the public and the boy left school without any notice. Bullying happened to myself and many other kid's to which the teachers did nothing but turn a blind eye probably because it was not part of their job and they didn't want the hassle to fill out reports. My sister was sexually groped by another student which teachers tried to ignore until my Dad went up to the school and threatened to get the police formally involved, Their excuse was that they couldn't do nothing about it... My dad pulled her out a couple of months after that. Students in my year were carrying weapons in their bags such as knifes and wood chisel's they stole from the wood workshop. The only decent teacher in the school was Mr. Chowdry who actually made a effort to bond with His Students. I was later diagnosed with a learning disability(Neurological) after school that was quite obvious due to my extremely short attention span, limited eye contact i made with people and utter lack of interest in interacting with others but teacher's never made any effort to find out what was causing my limited interaction or any other kids that struggled, It felt more just like a ''push as many of them through'' statistic school to keep ofsted anyway. I didn't even attend much of year 11 due to extreme stress, anxiety and depression, i was never even sent a attendance later home for my parents to find out, so that just about says enough of how much of a shambles this school was. If i had to relive the PTSD i suffer from School now for £1 million pounds i would refuse. This is not a safe place of education unless you're kid has a very aggressive way about defending himself which most kids do not wish towards others. If your kid has a kind, gentle or friendly way about them do not send them to this school. There is no decent education at this place regardless of the OFSTED reports.
