This campsite is a good option for those who want a no-frills camping experience with easy access to Thirsk. While the site itself is basic just a field with electric hookup and basic facilities, the location is unbeatable - it's just a short walk into town. The toilets were clean and functional, although not modern. If you're looking for a campsite where you can easily explore Thirsk's restaurants, cafes, and pubs, this is a great choice.
Vast improvements made to the racecourse since our last visit in 2022. New entrances revamped bars and toilets excellent. Will be returning more often now after experiencing the improvements.
Only grass pitches but the ground is very firm so no problem. The facilities are quite basic but extremely well maintained and immaculate. Lidl is next door and Tesco opposite. The town centre with it's lively market are about 10 mins walk. Great walks through the park by the church and along the river. Despite being in the town, it's fairly quiet after rush hour. We will definitely be back.
Very nice course, most areas apart from members open to everyone. Food slightly expensive £12.50 for a small box type with 3 fish bites and a few chips not good, this was from an online catering van.
Ideal race course well looked after and maintained. Good service by all staff. Pleasant family experience. We do like visiting thirsk race course and the town.
