Mid-Devon Country Inn.

Story

A traditional English country inn, in the heart of the glorious Devon countryside. Family-run, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and boasting wonderful views, the central location means that most of what Devon offers is within easy reach. Superb food is how the inn originally made it’s name, and diners travel from far and wide to eat here. The inn is open all day, seven days a week. There also are eight letting bedrooms and a spectacular banqueting hall for functions and wedding receptions. The pretty beer garden to the side is perfect for enjoying a peaceful drink on those warm summer evenings. Families are welcome.

Looks a bit tired when you arrive but clean and tidy inside. Welcoming and obliging staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, child friendly and a good menu. Food well presented and generous portions. However, I had to ask for napkins and condiments and after we left, my adult daughter confessed that she'd not eaten all of her ham because it looked rotten after the first couple of slices and some of her chips weren't properly cooked. She also thought my uneaten piece chicken looked slightly pink but certainly most of it was well done.

Came here by chance on a very quiet bank holiday Monday. A typical English pub, doesn't look much from the outside, but very welcoming staff & locals. Lunch selection was typical English fayre. Very tasty, quality food and reasonable portions too. Glad we stopped here.

It's in the middle of nowhere. We stayed here for 2 nights. Needless to say, after you've had your evening meal, there's nothing to do but go to your room. Quite a large room, had tv n wifi. Kettle n hairdryer also in room on table. Space to hang clothing. Double bed. En suite. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Though we went out days and did alot of walking, couldn't sleep.

Staff were very welcoming brillant choice on menu. Bit on the pricey side but was worth every penny. They didnt have a steak bag on the menu but still went and made one any way. Lovely little place only problem is it very of the beaten track
