Lovely local pub. Friendly staff. Dogs are very welcome inside I counted 10 on my visit on a Sunday lunchtime in February! Food is quick to come out. Big portions of traditional pub food and well cooked. Good children's menu too. Big garden that must be nice in summer. If I lived locally, I'd happily visit regularly.
An attractive spot with big garden and next to playground if one has nippers. Selection of beers are ok with Sussex on. Staff are a bit hit and miss so was hoping for better.
Myself and 3 friends had an early Christmas dinner yesterday. It was a truly excellent meal with table decorations, Santa hats and crackers included. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, making us feel very special. I would highly recommend this restaurant
The pub is in a really nice area. The Sunday roast lamb was absolutely banging, the dessert sticky toffee pudding with ice cream also banged! Me and my 3 friends stayed longer than anticipated and didn’t feel rushed. Lovely service from the team. Definitely coming back again.
Booked Boxing Day lunch online at the woodman. When we arrived we were informed that because we booked online we were not down for having Christmas menu but everyday menu no crackers/ hats even though this wasn’t written online! Very disappointed! As was my father and uncle in their eighties! Staff very unhelpful!
A special thank you to the waitress who served our cake requirements at the outdoor pavilion today 13/11/2022, impressed on the care and initiative taken. Thank you to the Woodman, a very dog friendly pub.
Abbie and katrina the two most kindest beautiful giving people in the pub Their smiles are making the winter so much warmer and are all the extra energy that is required to get us men spending. Definitely must here!
Lamb was perfectly cooked and fell off the bone however, the dish wasn't exactly as described on the menu, as some items were missing from our plate - would've given 5 star if it wasn't for this detail, thankfully I had enough on my plate to not leave me hungry. This pub is huge with a bigger seating area outside. It's warm inside and filled with lovely, helpful, smiley staff. Social distancing is taken seriously but in such a way that it doesn't disturb the pub experience. They greeted us when we arrived and waved us away as we left. Brilliant experience in the country. The owner is also very welcoming and helpful
Excellent food and incredible value for money. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. All in all will be back again.
Great roast dinner. Plenty of food. Lovely location and garden would be perfect in summer
