Stopped in for a quick bite and had some delicious soup, and a lovely platter of olives, breads and dipping oils. Super nice staff. Then went downstairs for a drink at the Bothy Bar which has a great selection of beers and ales and good cosy bothy vibes.
Super friendly place with lovely food, good selection of beers and a great view of the Cairngorms. Our puppy even got a mini roast dinner for free! Recommended!
I had the scotch broth as the soup of the day which was okay. Burger with cheese and haggis was quite good, but it feel a bit on the dry side. Dessert was good and the presentation is fabulous. However the service is very slow, over 1.5 hours slow we pre booked as well for 10 people. They are also unwilling to split the bill we gave £3.5 tip per person on the last restaurant, so they are also missing out.
Considering the reviews, I was expecting better. The staff did not once manage a smile. They also seemed a little confused, I.e. they didn't completethe drinks order 1 wine, 1 beer. I had to remind them that I had not received my pint. the decorations are tired. the Winking owl outside the pub entrancehas no face.
Friendly staff but mediocre food, albeit in large portions. The Cullen skink was thin and not very smoky; the pate was pleasant enough but tasted and looked shop bought. For the mains, the Thai green curry had a peculiar medicinal taste to it. The steak pie was a bland stew with a piece of puff pastry on top. The roasted parsnips and carrots were very tasty though.
Visited whist on holiday from Wiltshire.. Friendly pub with a warm welcome, excellent service and outstanding food. What made our experience all the more enjoyable was our dog George was given a plate of beef in gravy, on the house, doesn't get more dog friendly than this! Much needed after a hike around Loch Morlich. Super dog friendly making for an inclusive experience. Great music too!!.. Highly recommended.
We had dinner here last night and it was wonderful! The portions were a great size and the gentleman who I believe was the bar manager is absolutely fantastic! He is such a character and puts a smile on your face numerous times throughout your meal. Definitely stop in by! They also have a good selection of local Ales which is always fantastic.
Enjoyed a lovely meal here while on holiday. Attentive staff and good food. This place is also dog friendly.
We only went into the downstairs Bothy Bar, but it was lovely. Great range of local beers, gins and whiskies. Carl behind the bar was really helpful and we took up his suggestion of coming to watch the ceilidh band Tweed later in the week. Great music, great atmosphere.
We actually went to the Bothy as we had a dog with us. Luckily the IPA was on this evening and it was a nice pint. A lovely wood burning stove was on and there was a nice atmosphere
