I’ve honestly had wonderful treatment from them, and I don’t say this lightly. Due to the nature of my illnesses I’ve required lots of care previously. I received abysmal treatment and met with downright nasty responses from another local surgery. However, since moving to this surgery a few years ago I have received compassion and patience. My GP is a gem and a credit to the surgery. Most importantly building mutual trust with me which I have appreciated. He has been quick to act, thorough and taken time which he must literally has none of to review me when unwell. I now rarely need treatment and if I do, I am seen quickly. Another GP I saw a while back was understanding and mindful in her approach, and even noticed another issue which I have now been referred for. Additionally, despite getting a bad name nationally, the receptionists here have been helpful and have taken steps to personally resolve issues quickly. I have to say, through what are some deeply difficult, extremely stressful times with unmanageable workloads. My GP and the rest of the Wilson Practice team have gone above and beyond for me. Above all they have restored my faith in healthcare professionals, which was a tricky task, after my experiences. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thank you.
GPs lovely, once you can actually see anyone. But it's never the same person which means you're treated as a condition for there and then and never for a whole person with a myriad of issues. Over a week with severe back/hip pain now, unable to get through by 'phone, eConsult closed by early morning. It's a joke.
Trying to get through is a nightmare. I started off as number 7 in the queue which was fine I was happy to wait to speak to a receptionist. I got down to number 1 in the queue by 20 minutes but then at 38 minutes still waiting for a receptionist to answer!!!!!
Amazing. Everytime I need to speak with someone, they answer really quickly. Helpful and accommodating. The nurses have the most amazing ability to take blood without causing any discomfort. Results were really quick too. Best surgery I have used. Receptionists were very calm and reassuring and I just think credit where credit is due. Keep up the great work.
I used e consult which I really rate on Thursday afternoon and at 7.30 am on Friday I had a call from the Dr. I was offered a 9 am consultation given a very thorough examination including bloods taken. I was treated for cancer last year . This is an excellent GP practice and just reaffirms that we are lucky to have such dedicated Drs and nurses still working in the NHS who put in very long hours behind the scenes .
Friendly, helpful reception staff and very efficient and thorough doctors. So sorry you have had to tell us about the abuse you have received. You are doing your best in difficult circumstances . Sharon and Holly who I have spoken with on reception have been very helpful and practical. My own lovely Dr Wagstaff, Dr Salt, Dr Rickard , Dr Davis and Dr Kemp I have needed your help a lot this year! have all been excellent. Thank you.
Great doctors surgery. One thing I don't like is ringing on the day for an appointment. You start ringing at 8am and if you're lucky to get through before 8.15am you usually find all the appointments have gone. You are able to book on line but again appointments are usually gone and you are looking at appointments a week or even on some occasions a month ahead. The staff are always welcoming and the doctors are great.
Staff at the Wilson practice were brilliant and gave me a thorough check over this morning and put me at ease and everything they were doing was explained in detail Nothing was too much trouble so Thank you for being so understanding
I truly do understand that all the staff are very stretched, however when you are feeling very poorly and the gp you've just seen tells you to book in before you leave to see him on Thursday only to be told no the appointments aren't bookable you must phone at 8am on Thursday and see if you can get an appointment!!!!!!! Just beggars belief. Who decided on this abominable procedure???? I have been a patient of this practice for over 30 years and always did my best to not abuse it only to be now treated as obviously too insignificant to be given an appointment as the Dr. requested Then there's the booking on line "service". One goes all thru the performance to get on line only to find if you have the temerity to want to book a GPS. appointment then the icon at the bottom of the list does not show and scrolling down does not reveal it. I really hope the practice manager and local Health Authority is fighting the Goverment and the greedy arrogant developers for the funding to put in adequate infrastructure to support the thousands of houses that continue to be built in Alton. Waited 12 minutes in the phone queue and then pressed 2 for reception….. now at 16 mins and still hanging on … really????
