Always a great atmosphere in here and great prices on drinks a must visit place
Faultless. Well, my only niggle is I couldn't find how to make an online booking so had to call and call all morning to get through and book. Once here, food was above average for "pub grub", lots of choice on the menu. All served promptly and piping hot. You could pay more and get less, you could pay more and get more but you can't pay less and get as good.
Really nice food, only would of liked it a little hotter. Spotless and lovely staff. Can't wait to go in warmer weather and sit outside as the views are gorgeous.
Amazing food, Friendly staff. Great outdoors area and beautiful traditional pub inside. Cant wait to come back
Myself and my mum visited the Whitchaff for the first time today and what a lovely experience we had! They had a great selection on the menu and what we ordered was super tasty. All the staff were really lovely and welcoming, we were checked on regularly to make sure all was well with our meals and asked if we needed more drinks often. Our server Tom was an absolute superstar and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed in a friendly and very polite manner. We will definitely be visiting again when we can!
Very nice food. Excellent menu choices. Staff were attentive and friendly but a little to quick to walk off from the table before fully taking the drinks orders. Will certainly be returning though and recommending.
Booked a table for 7pm but table wasn’t ready until 7:45pm. We then didn’t get our food until 8:20pm. In the meantime a member of staff tried to take away my glass which wasn’t empty. I ordered medium rare sirloin steak but it was bordering on well done and was tough. Presentation of my meal looked like it had been thrown on the plate. The chips were nice though I ate most of my meal as I was very hungry by the time I got it and I didn’t want to have to wait for a replacement or go elsewhere as we needed to get home to our puppy. When the waitress collected our plates we were asked if everything was ok so I was honest and said that my steak was tough. She spoke to her manager, came back with a dessert menu and offered us free desserts. I said we didn’t want desserts so she just said, “sorry about that “ and started to walk away!!!!! I said, “Is that it?” So she said she would speak to her manager again. The outcome was that they knocked off the price of two drinks. They said they couldn’t knock off the price of my meal as I had eaten most of it. I explained that we had waited an hour and 20 minutes, I was very hungry and we weren’t expecting to be out for so long as we had to get home. The food wasn’t inedible, just nowhere near as good as it should have been. Also several children were being allowed to run around the restaurant, chasing each other, which, in my mind is wrong from more than one aspect. It’s a shame as we used to enjoy eating at The Whitchaff previously. In my opinion it isn’t anywhere near as good as it used to be. We won’t be going back.
Best pub in the area ! Called in today for dinner and drinks. Sat out the back in the garden on a nice summers evening. The staff are very friendly attentive. The food menu is very very good with lots of choices for all tastes. Drinks came straight away. Food arrived just at the right time and was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Great service and amazing pub food - perfect portion size and lots of variety. A really great evening with friends. Will definitely be returning!
The place has been done up and they've made an excellent job. Food was great and reasonably priced. Service could have been tad better.
Food was good, however they "lost" our reservation so we ended up squashed up with 2 tables put together. Place was full and busy, took about an hour for food to arrive. The people on the next table were very loud and rowdy, nothing was done to quieten them.
