Excellent food and accommodation. We have partaken of both and can highly recommend it. Best to book a table for a meal though as they are well supported.

Very hospitable. Beautiful four poster bed in our dog friendly room. The breakfast was really good with lots of choice and restaurant meals and bar meals were also very good.

We were driving through villages looking for somewhere to eat & came across this Inn. We were greeted by an open fire along with a warm atmosphere. The food was great and not too pricey. I would recommend this place The Lasagna was great

I arrived at the Wheatsheaf Inn soaking wet after a six mile walk, looking forward to a warm fire, a cold ale and a light lunch. Having been warmly greeted by a friendly barman, I sat by the fire hoping to warm up and dry some of my gear. The Cumberland ale was great and I ordered a ham sandwich. The sandwich arrived promptly and was very good...proper thick ham, not the thin processed stuff! I was ready for another pint and stuck with the Cumberland it was so good! I also got a bag of crisps. Thirst duly quenched, appetite suitably satisfied and gear almost dry, I settled my tab and made my way home a happy man.

We stayed here for two nights the end of October and I can honestly say it's one of the nicest, friendliest places we have ever stayed. We were greeted by Emily, who couldn't have been been more helpful. Dinner was lovely, very good sized portions and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was great and made even more enjoyable with the lovely Beth. The four poster bed and pillows were so comfy we didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. The staff at the Wheatsheaf Inn are probably the best we have ever come across and we will definitely be staying with them again. Keep up the good work. Thanks again. Sharon and Steve Mortimer
