OMG....what an Aladdin's Cave...pure joy entering this modest shop...reading past reviews, the negative posts mention no room to move around, or danger of so many books piled high...what can they be possibly thinking ??? This shop takes me back to the thrill of a Saturday morning of my childhood when my parents and sister would spend a couple of hours in a book shop, I would spin around in delight at all the piles of books, some stacked on the floor purely for the reason that the shelves were choc a block, my fingers tingle at the memory. So to find this little gem meant a great deal to me on so many levels. Admittedly, all those years ago it was the high pile of comics that drew me and now its a multitude of books.....this shop is amazing and the charming lady's knowledge and customer service is also 10 out of 10. If you truly love books and searching for whatever you fancy, then don't hesitate, its worth any travelling involved to get here as sadly this type of book shop is now so rare in our plastic , ubiquitous amazon book shop world...
To expensive for secondhand books, and not a very clear way to walk around in ,sorry
It is such a lovely little shop, and so many good books to choose from. I highly recommend for book lovers, a unique little gem.
I would like to say a few words about this bookstore. One it is such a magical place. With a lot of nice and intriguing book, you can fest your eyes on. Two what you can learn as well as being such a word orientated atmosphere. It’s always great to visit the store with my girlfriend because we can connect while finding the words we can describe for each other. Finally just like to say I love the store the books and more importantly the people you see along the way. Will be returning back soon.
Been going there for years, good choice of second hand books where you can bring your old books & exchange them for 50% off. So many books in such a small shop makes it harder to find what you want but the choice is great!
Love this shop but beware about books almost everywhere so much so there is a health warning on the door! Janet and Alice and Winston the dog will help you. I must go there again. My main reason being the permanent damage to my mobility scooter and Dorset Council being totally corrupt about its repair price.
Best bookshop. A treasure trove and better value than most charity shops. We attend regularly! Would be worth the travel even if you are not local, or contact them if you are after a specific book
A great bookshop with super friendly service. Floor to ceiling with second hand books there is something for everyone. Also there is a great scheme where you can trade in books. Highly recommended.
Delightful little treasure trove of a bookshop, really well-run and friendly. Thank you!
If you like books you will love this shop
