A very nice and friendly pub. Pleasant staff. Great beer. Serves food. We didn't try any, but the meals looked good. I would advise to book a table prior to your visit, as it does get busy. Friday is steak night by all accounts. There is a big spacious beer garden with plenty of tables and a children's play area. Parking: No parking on site. Limited parking on the street.
Went to see a friend of the family who lives just down the road from this pub, so we thought we would pop in for lunch. I'm so glad we did as the food is fantastic and that is an understatement. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. All the food was piping hot when it came out, and the portion size was perfect. The pub is very clean and tidy and has a massive beer garden at the back. Very safe to take children as they can't get out once the are in the garden. All said and done i couldn't fault this place on any level. If you are in the town of Par call in as I can't praise this place enough.
My last experience was so fantastic at this most delightful establishment. My local friend & myself returned. Excellent Ales & good home cooked food that was plentiful, as I ordered a large beef. And my local friend enjoyed the vegetarian option. And what a pleasant garden. Had it not been so windy I'd have eaten outside. Absolutely awesome atmosphere & courteous staff. I'm sure to return when I visit Cornwall again.
Book in advance for Sunday lunch IT'S WORTH IT. They just do roast dinners of a sunday but by god its worth it. Portion sizes are small, standard and large. We had a mix of all three. My 6 year old had a small, my 12 year old a standard and me and the wife large with turkey/beef mix. I could have ordered both the kids a standard between them and me and the wife a standard each. Portion size is phenomenal the large is 3 or 4 slices of turkey and easily the same or more beef. But that's not all, the meat is EXCELLENT. Not an ounce of fat on the beef. I regret not getting the pork NOW just to try it. There is LOADS of veg. Standard has it all on the plate. Large comes with and extra side plate on top of the cauliflower cheese and parsnips already loaded. Staff are lovely too. Waiting time isn't too long either. I Shan't say anything about price other the VERY competitive. BOOK AHEAD we saw people turned away on the day. Photos show small and standard.
Very welcoming dog friendly pub with delicious food.Food: 4/5
Great little pub! Called ahead to book a table for five. Friendly welcome, food served in a timely manner. Burger was great, steak, & beef lasagna too. A particular favourite was the Katsu chicken curry. All very affordable, which was a bonus. Service with a smile, and friendly locals. Would happily return.
We have driven past this pub so many times and didn't notice it was there We were recommended to try the food by some fellow visitors so we went at lunchtime, some parking is available on the front, we were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful young lady who served our drinks and chatted about the dishes on the specials board Great selection of ales and food on the menu looks great! We opted for the specials which were amazing! Chimichurri chicken and Thai fishcakes, went down a storm. We sat in the back garden which is as well as the pub surprisingly large with a kiddies play area at the end. If we get time to go again before we leave we most definitely will. Excellent
Nice little pub, with a varied menu at reasonable prices. Definitely felt full after our meal here. Friendly staff, great food, and nice quiet atmosphere.... Parking limited, but plenty of roadside parking or by co-op, just two minute walk away.
What a find amazing food at a very reasonable price its restored my faith in good pub food . The public self looks quiet small but the garden is massive at the back the staff could not do enough for us I would go back to par just for this pub
Called in for a meal, after visiting Eden Project. One of the best pub meals ever eaten. Great value, lovely pub and staff. Do not miss out
