Before I review the receptionists, I'd like to say that the the actual medical staff, the doctors, HCA's, nurses, ANP's are absolutely amazing and i cannot fault them. the care is platinum standard and they are friendly, helpful and caring, however, Horrific receptionists. The receptionists seem to think they're in a position to give medical advice to patients calling in to the surgery, they're not.They are rude, confrontational, the faces they pull at you and the language they use when speaking to you is disgraceful. The receptionists interrupt you every time you open your mouth, they don't let you fully explain the issue and think they have the right to speak down to you. On one occassion, patients were lining up outside the door for their afternoon appointments, and while the door was still locked the receptionists were standing at an upstairs window staring at everyone. A mother and newborn child were at the front of the queue, with the baby screaming its lungs out. It was cold, raining and the baby was clearly uncomfortable, the receptionists all moved to get a good look out the window and LAUGHED as the young mum dropped the babys bottle and mittens, while visibly upset. They LAUGHED at her. when we eventually got inside, when the young mum checked in and went to sit down, two of the receptionists waited until she had sat down and gave each other a wee smirk. disgusting behaviour on a regular basis from these 'women'.

My husband phoned for an appointment with a particular doctor.  He was told there are no appointments and to phone tomorrow.   He wasn't told when the next appointment was with this doctor or if any other doctor was available.   This practice is not what it used to be and it is bad enough waiting 4 weeks to see a doctor (when we used to be able to see one in the same week) without this new 'there are no appointments, phone tomorrow'.  What is going on with this practice?

Lived in Glasgow Southside for 45 yrs.   For 23 years worked for G.G.H.B. Mearnskirk  Hospital then various Health Centres.   In 2002 we moved to Kilmarnock and  Registered with The Ward Medical Practice around March/April 2002.  
This, Practice is very well organised, receptionist are professional, kind,  and do there upmost to sort out any problems that should arise.   The Care Assistants,  Health Visitors, Nurses, the  GP.'s 
 
Oh Gosh!! What started out as a compliment to the Practice has snowballed.

 So, as my son says "cut it short mum"   On behalf of myself and my better half 
"Thank You All Very Much ".  for taking care of us, it is appreciated.
