The welcome was warm, the room was lovely and comfy, clean and spacious but it was the food that did it for us! It was absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be staying again, even though it's only just over an hour away from where we live, it was a very welcome and lovely break . Staff couldn't do enough for us.
Well. What can we say. Very reasonably priced considering the fantasticly sized room. Even came with a bath as well as the shower. And the room even came with a trouser press, the 80s called and they want it back. My missus was born in the 70s and didn't realise things needed turning on at the wall too.nnBreakfast was good, very good, however, if youre going to use a plate the size of a dustbin lid, maybe give 2 sausages and another rasher of bacon. Impressive range of pastries and juices. And to top it off, reception and breakfast is manned by very kind, friendly and helpful staff, they were more than happy to provide another bed sheet after the missus sharted and correctly blamed it on me. Even offering to change the sheets.nnOverall a fantastic experience, enhanced even further by the staff member with serious Hannibal Lecture vibes, even offering fava beans and Chianti upon departure. And with being such horror film fans, we even stayed an extra night which was provided at the same rate as we'd paid for the previous 2 nights.nnThe only criticism of note, is the possibility of spiders joining us in bed as it must be said there were a few cobwebs in the room. Oh....and if you're used to a modern TV with YouTube and other modcons, bring a tablet or similar as the amount of times she asked me to pause the TV and rewind it. Apparently the menopause makes you forget what the decade is. Crazy people/person. OutnnFinal note - on the last day before we've left, the missus was feeling sick caused by self and the hotel were more than happy to accommodate by cooking her a breakfast for takeaway, allowing me to serve it to her in bed before we left. Again. Going above and beyond!!nnA+
A one night stay attending a family event. We booked the Walnut Tree at short notice based entirely on its location being convenient for my mother's house. We were greeted by Daniel who was friendly, cheerful and helpful on each occasion we dealt with him during our stay. We were impressed by the room size, which was quiet and clean with a bed we found very comfortable. While the menu in the room information looked interesting and reasonably priced, we were pre-booked elsewhere so cannot comment. The breakfast was excellent, however, with a buffet and cooked options. Wifi worked well in all areas. Fantastic value for money and so much nicer than the chain hotel offerings. Highly recommended.
We came in the hotel early hours of the morning from being at the hospital with our friend who was really ill,nThe youn lady on reception was so lovely we had wonderful stay albeit one night lovely comfortable bed room was amazing we had our breakfast in our room, thank you so much we will see definitely come back
