Delightful stay at the Volunteer Inn. They upgraded my room as there was space during the off-season which I was grateful for. Inclusive breakfast was a full English of good quality. It's a great pub showing the rugby, and situated in a beautiful village surrounded by plenty of scenic walking routes. Would recommend to anyone for a brilliant country escape
Great inn, pub and restaurant. Lovely staff, including the pub dog, fantastic Indian food, great cooked breakfasts made to order. Got a free room upgrade and everything was perfect - no complaints!Rooms: 5/5
Wonderful pub with accommodation. Our room was clean with all the facilities you would expect. We stayed here for a wedding a few miles away. First night we had a large family gathering at the Indian restaurant onsite. The food and atmosphere was really good. The staff worked really hard on a warm evening especially as they were fully booked. Finished off the evening in the bar. The breakfast needs a special mention. Lots of the usual options. Vegan breakfast was delicious. I must give the cleaners and breakfast staff a shout out. All very polite. Kim, especially, was really helpful, happy to chat about local places to visit and directions to the Tower. 5 all round! Nearby activities: Beautiful Cotswold villages everywhere. Food & drinks: Food and drinks top notch.
We absolutely loved our stay at Volunteer Inn! It is right in town, with a beautiful back yard/beer garden and a lively pub. All the staff were so incredibly welcoming and helpful, Sophie went above and beyond to help us get situated. We stayed at the Volunteer Inn the night before we started the Cotswolds Way, and we used their bag transfer and it was easy, smooth and very affordable. I highly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future! Nearby activities: Wonderful restaurants, small shops, and walking paths all within five minutes walk of the inn. Walkability: In the heart of Chipping Campden.
This was our first stop for the Cotswold Way, North. It is a perfect Pub Inn. The rooms are clean and comfy. The breakfast is enough to send you on your way. The Indian Restaurant was delicious. The location is close to all in Chipping Campden. Charming pub and town. Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. Walkability: Close to all in town. Food & drinks: The pub was friendly and drinks good.
Great location, lovely spacious room. Would be good to have blackout curtains in the room as it gets very bright in there, but otherwise a lovely stay. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. Breakfast was lovely and staff were really friendly!Rooms: 5/5
had a wonderful one night stop in the Volunteer inn with my Mother. Our room number 9 was spacious, squeaky clean, comfortable, had a lovely view and was very airy due to the double set of windows. A superb, large, quiet fan was provided if you prefer to shut the double glazed windows on a hot night. We're not big eaters so didn't order the 'full English'. However, we really enjoyed the continental breakfast and poached eggs on toast. Delicious locally sourced eggs and plenty of tea/coffee, juice, cereal, yoghurt & fruit to help yourself to. On the evening we had a delightful, good value for money, indian meal in the Marharaja restaurant in the Volunteer inn. Would definitely recommend that too. Nearby activities: Little Oaks Vineyard wine tasting tour is a definitely worth a visit. lots of local walks. The fabulously helpful staff at the tourist information have books of walks and maps. Broadway is 4 miles or so away.
Good value for money, clean, friendly service, nice cooked breakfast and next to town. Would stay again.Rooms: 4/5
As an American in a foreign town, I found this pub to be most welcoming and friendly. The drinks were great and company was top notch. We didn’t stay at the Inn but from the looks of things, it was very nice.
B&B, real ale on site, joyous clientele, boisterous and happening crowd, courteous staff, softest beds, perfect stopover, solid breakfast period charm, Cotswold authenticity; just slot in for a bucolic and welcome stay. Loved it!Rooms: 5/5
