Visited this afternoon with my mum and this place cheered her up immediately - she particularly loved meeting all the dogs and their owners.😀 It's a beautiful; friendly pub [historic building] set in an outstanding location. Delicious roasts and brilliant staff who 'go the extra mile' to look after you. Wonderful atmosphere and great experience - a hidden gem in the Surrey Hills. I shall be back!! 😀😀

Great welcome, excellent beer and fab food, what's not to like? My first visit to this pub on a chum's recommendation and certainly not my last, I came away with that smug satisfaction of finding a true gem. Please please please keep up the good work it is so refreshing to find a proper pub that one feels confident to recommend.

I used to come here many years ago & it was always a very pubby-pub. However, nowadays, like many pubs, it has turned into a Gasssstrooooopub, there is actually no bar bit. In fact it is more of a restaurant. We went two weeks ago and as the Sunday-Roast-Rush was over so sat on table and had our drinks bought to us (we weren't eating) - it was great but a bit formal. Then we tried this Sunday, went to sit @ the same table as the week previously. Once we sat down, a member of staff came over & asked what we were having to eat. We said we were just having drinks (this is a pub, right?) and we were told it was outdoor seating only if just drinks.... & it was hail stones at the time..... Will go back in the summer i guess when you can sit outside and have a drink. Seemed a shame.

Wow, what a pub! Owners are 4 months in, having 16 years in the business - and I cant think of any faults! Staff were extremely friendly, service was immaculate, food and drink was reasonably priced and tasted exquisite. To top it all off, our dog was more than welcome and made himself very much at home, whilst accepting some lovely treats. We will definetely be returning!!

A rare pub truly worthy of the gastro-pub name. The food is simply outstanding. We had an amazing pork platter to share that I'll never forget. Great beer and cider options too, and all very reasonable in a beautiful location. Can't wait to go back.
