Went for Christmas lunch with my friend ‪on the 14th December 2018‬. The main meal was nice but was a small portion for two adults - it was served on a child's plate (ba humbug). The cheesecake on the fixed menu wasn't available so we were offered a different kind, which we agreed to. The waiting staff member returned and apologised, saying there was only one slice of cheesecake left as an extra reservation was just made, and they needed it for this patron as they were part of a large group. My friend and l correctly felt that this was unfair as it should be 'first come, first served' but did not voice this to the serving staff. I felt this could be easily resolved by offering us a desert from the standard menu, and l asked for fudge cake. The staff member looked unsure so l asked to speak to the manager. A grumpy, irritated man came to our table and gave us an option befitting of scrooge, we can have chocolate cake, but only half a portion each. My friend said no thanks, she will have the last slice of cheesecake (she was still hungry after her tiny meal) l tried to bulk out my half portion by asking for ice cream on the side, and this enraged this scrooge type character, he blurted out "what do you think this, a charity for china?" as he stomped off. This antiquated saying made me feel l was in a Faulty Tower episode, and l did not say anything as l didn't want to provoke the wrath of Basil Faulty. Our desserts were of the quality of the budget section of a chain frozen food supermarket. After our meagre meal and awful customer service from the manager, l felt annoyed and wanted to write a letter of complaint to the owner of this business. I spoke to a member of the waiting staff to get the managers name (Kieran), and stressed that there was no issues with any other staff members, and that the ‘tip’ we leave was to go directly to the waiting staff. Unfortunately l found out the Kieran is the owner, so it would be pointless writing a letter of complaint. Thank you Google for giving me the opportunity to complain about terrible customer service via Kieran, and to warn other potential patrons about going to The View Bar/Restaurant. In response to Kieran's customer friendly feedback to my complaint. Kieran, your reply only emphasises my comparison to Basil Fawlty and your good self. I will post you a shovel to dig a deeper hole. Thanks for the laughs.

The food was decent, service a wee bit slow but overall okay for a run of the mill pub/restaurant

Had lunch today. It was delicious. Had the chicken fajita stack then variety of ice cream. Food was well presented. The actual place was very clean, staff very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking available. Will recommend to friends and family. Pleasure being there and very good value for money.

Fairly good food. Traditional pub grub. Has a lot of entertainment on at the weekends in the function suite. Suits younger people. They have another room that can be booked for smaller private functions such as birthdays, anniversaries etc.
