Worked here about 10 years ago for less than a couple months. The owner owned this place and another nightclub in Stockwell called the Swan. For xmas they would move staff from one club to another. I was about 18/19 years old at the time and worked a full exhausting new years eve. It was my last shift as they hold your wages if you dont give notice. Never met the owner. End of shift Suddenly a huge security man asked me to enter a room and told me I need to take a breathalyser!! I was so afraid I had no idea what was going on. I did what I was told and not even an apology for being accused of drinking on the job from anyone. I probably looked knackered because I could hardly stand after serving drinks without a break all night and into the morning. They dont let you keep tips and will fire you if you do doubt policy has changed and use bully tactics even on staff. Its a horrible memory that still haunts me into my adulthood. Dont support this business.
This building is owned by immoral people, it has been left abandoned and unsecured, and as a result some homeless people found shelter and a place to sleep. The owners then physically assaulted a girl, kicking her on the ground and attempting to throw her from a balcony. If this place ever does return, i would be very very cautious with your safety. They threatened to shoot an innocent female, leaving her injured and traumatised. Disgusting.
My irish mother and father met here in the 1950s and I've been there a few times it's a big place and funFood: 3/5
Visited the venue a few years ago and as described so many times already my friends and I was racially abused FYI incident is being investigated. I would recommend all races to think twice before going to this venue. The bouncer's do not follow rules and regulations. Please take a video or supported evidence and report to the police if you have any issues or concerns. Be safe!
Great nightclub, great music for everyone provides you with hours of fun whilst not feeling like it drags. All staff are lovely. The customer care for lost items is great. They are quickly responsive when they check to find everything they leave no corner unturned. Would really recommend this club.
Had some great nights here when I was younger. Unfortunately my mate had his nose bitten here by some small old bloke who was supposedly the owner! Therefore I can only give The Venue 3 stars.
Great music and a variety for whatever you're feeling. My friends and I love coming here for a good dance, especially enjoying that heels aren't a requirement but still allowed plus jeans! The team there were so kind and helpful when I lost my phone! Always have a great night whenever I visit!
Great atmosphere, I always feel safe. Drinks are not expensive, several stages to move around and change the music. Dj sometimes lets you choose a song which is really nice and fun ^^ I lost my ID card and they posted it back to me, great customer service! Will come again :
I am giving venue 4 starts due to the club is brilliant I love and enjoyed every moment of it. But the security guards are not friendly what so ever and venue is my local club. I'm afraid due to the security guards venue will go downhill. But rather then that it is a fun place to be and cheaper then other clubs. You also have a smoking area on the roof but cannot take your drinks out which ain't a problem due to the health and safety policy. But really they need to change the security guys at the door.
Bad music... All the girls had barely anything on and were way too drunk to even be there.. And it's rather secret that it's considerably more expensive to enter for men. The sofas were around a dance floor, which made dancing awkward and there were a few men just taking pics on their phones of girls. It's ridiculous. I love a good night out but this was targeting the vulnerable! Plus they got two of our drinks wrong! Rude staff and took their time to even take my order when the bar was empty!
