Sadly the breakfast was not as a reminder, the service was slow, my coffee order was forgotten about and I had to remind them after 15 minutes that I was still waiting for a latte, the food wasn’t that fresh and I picked up a piece of toast from the basket that had mould on the side, serving the crusts of bread for the French toast also. I don’t think I’ll be returning for the Firmans breakfast.
Along with the memorable and unique breakfast on a shovel, the service is impeccable. I'd go back for the service alone, the gentleman who seated us allowed us to have the iconic shovel breakfast when breakfast service was meant to be over in 5 minutes. He checked on us and didn't rush us at all. The food itself was also really good quality and the railway theme is not overdone but rather softly accentuating an already pleasant venue. Situated within the old railway tickethall in Douglas, about a 5-10 minute walk from Douglas's ferry terminal. They also have a train dining service that operates, and ties in with the railway tickethall.
Good food , quick service , friendly staff what can I say ..
The breakfast is something that you will hear about from others and it's well worth it, waitresses were very polite and friendly and the price was good too. Generally a lovely place for a good meal to set you up for the day.
Excellent meal. I chose vegetarian and had plenty of salad too. Great quality, excellent service for £8.50. Is this the best meal for price deal in Douglas? Quite probably! Try it!!
We went last night and had a excellent Bistro meal, the portions were large and very tasty and reasonably priced. It was a lovely atmosphere and Simon and the staff were so friendly and attentive. We'll deffo be going again!
Excellent food, good service and value for money in lovely modernised facilities within thre traditional railway buildings
Good lunch and not baddly priced either breakfast is better on a shovel
Too pricy for the amount u get on a plate. Very small amount of crisps and salad with a wrap that could of done with more filling. Expensive.
Really good breakfast. Well presented and good portions. Even made the extra effort to make some gluten free toast. Eat upstairs in the iom railway ticket office with the faint tang of steam trains working outside.
