Needed somewhere quick and easy for something to eat. Knew I could find something I would like and my fussy hubby will find something too. Settled for a small curry and a glass of wine. Excellent size of meal. The lady on the next table had ordered a full size one and I knew it was too big for a light lunch for me, so was great to have smaller meal sized options. Meal arrived relatively quick although I noticed that the table beside me ordered after is but received their meals first, however was only a few minutes. Value for money couldn't be beaten.
Booked this location as it said it had a lift. However, unless you are on the second floor and above it is no good for disabled people. Due to a disability room unavailable we had to climb stairs. The room was spacious and bathroom large. Bed was very hard but again very large. Food typical Wetherspoon. No complaints about the food. Wouldn't stay again though unless a disabled room was available.
The room needed refurbishing. The air conditioning for the kitchen ran all night. The staff emptied bottles into the skip at 12 at night. The shower was nearly unusable. The shower mat was remove for the second night. The breakfast was very poor. All in all it was not a good experience and will not stay in another Wetherspoon ever again if they think the standard of our room was acceptable at £185 for 2 nights. We recently stayed in a Premier Inn in Wolverhampton at £99 for 2 nights. A good standard.
This place is presently undergoing substantial renovations and about time too. It hasn't got to the state of bring your own wellies but hard hats may help and don't forget an extra beer mat to stop stuff falling into your drink. Prices are amazing, atmosphere is akin to an ironing board without any fried eggs but the prices are the key factor. These are my opinions not facts.
On a trip to a local attraction with my daughter, so needed a bit of lunch, myself and my daughter both enjoy a wetherspoons so it was an easy choice.nPlenty of seating in various little rooms to the sides for a quieter lunch stop if required,nI used the app to order and food came as expected within around 10 minutes which was good as it was a bit busy.nFood was good .
