About

You will find The Three Greyhounds in Soho London within a short stroll of Tottenham Court Road, Soho Square and Chinatown

Story

Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.

Our pub is so named from the dogs once used to hunt hares when Soho was open ground. Greek Street, on which we sit, dates to the 1670s and is named after the Greek Church that stood in Hog Lane. It is recorded that Casanova stayed in this street in 1764 and other records show the pub at this site in 1927, although licensed premises have existed here since at least 1847.

The Three Greyhounds is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.

One of my favorite pubs in the city. I especially like it because its location and architecture. It was one of the pubs to go when people are visiting London. Atmosphere is very nice , very traditional pub.Service: 5/5
Leicester Square  £7.30 Paulaner A Small but Perfectly Formed Soho Favourite. The Three Greyhounds is located in the south east corner of Soho close to Cambridge Circus. The nearest Tube is Leicester Square, it’s a four minute walk to get here. This pub dates back to 1847, The Three Greyhounds is named after the dogs who once hunted hares here when Soho was open ground. The mock Tudor exterior and leaded windows make this an eye catching boozer that stands out from the surrounding buildings. This is a cosy one bar pub that has a ‘ye olde’ pub feel. The bar area is wedged shaped with a little nook on the left hand side. The servery has a solid wood counter, brass fixtures and is located along the back wall of the bar. The seating is mix of traditional low level seating plus a few poser tables dotted around. The beer selection was pretty good and included premium lagers, a bit of craft plus five cask ales. I decided on a pint of Paulaner, my pint was excellent, price point was to be expected. The food menu was full of hearty pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £18. I arrived around 1pm for a midweek lunchtime pint. On arrival, I had the place to myself but the pub soon filled up with local workers and tourists. One fella opened a bag of peanuts which flew everywhere which had everyone in stitches. The service was great, the barman was welcoming and friendly. The pub also hosts live acoustic music throughout the week. @thethreegreyhounds is a fantastic little boozer that delivers a great all round Soho pub experience, get it on your list. ℹ Info correct on visiting 21.02.24
We stopped at this small pub at the corner of Greek Street and Old Compton Street. Nice vibe and music. A large selection of draft beer. Unlike few place I have been to, all options were available. Staff were friendly. The beer we ordered was fresh. We have not ordered food, however, a table near were having food and seemed to enjoy it. My rating on the food is based on their reactions. Easy going and lovely playlist. Parking: It is not easy to find parking. Wheelchair accessibility: It is easily accessible.
Stopped in here just to get a few drinks, but couldn't resist the food. The portions were far larger than I expected for the prices. Such a good selection of gins and whiskeys. And the gentlemen running the place was great. I tried the brisket loaded fries, and shared some of the brauts and mash. Couldn't argue with the quality.
Great little pub with friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely pint of Guinness Service: 5/5
Excellent pub, the staff are super efficient and nice. It didn't get too busy on Sunday afternoon, we even had a table for late lunch. The main food menu is actually very good, we had several dishes and everything was tasty and good portions. Usual variety of drinks. Will come back when in the area.
There are numerous old pub or free house, 'technically' speaking. Each has its style. This is a small one with comfortable environment. The staff is nice and helpful. I tried the steak pie and it is little chewy hard to me. But I have to say that I don't know if this is the authentic style.
Nice decor, friendly staff - but the music is horrendously loud. We were in here from afternoon to early evening, and my tinnitus is far worse for it. The place was busy too - they didn’t need to do it for atmosphere!Service: 5/5
Instantly recognisable if you’ve ever strolled around Soho, this Tudor Revival pub dates back to 1847 and is named after the dogs which hunted hare when Soho was open ground. Notable patrons of this fine drinking establishment over the years include The Sex Pistols and The Clash. You might have also spotted the inside of the pub in a Bend It Like Beckham movie scene If you found my review or photo helpful please leave a quick thumbs up Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful, gone past this pub loads of times. What a mistake, absolutely cracking atmosphere. Wonderful live music. Great staff, it's an absolute must.Food: 5/5
