one of the last remaining proper local pubs. Brilliant bar staff, real good atmosphere. Many a good Friday night with the lovely regulars.

We have been on off dwellers of this little gem of grays for over 19 years give or take .. !! Yes the owner can occasionally be a grump and he will be the first to own up to it ... but in a way those that know ..... it is part of the charm and history of this pub .... we knew frequented this pub when we first moved to grays and were welcomed into the community by Roy's mum and dad , who were the then owners ... Roy has always had input into this place helping to move forward in the ever changing and challenging times and fads of the here and now . WE moved away and didn't attend this pub as often as we used to , but now and again we like to pay a visit ... today we made that visit again ... and as always we were welcome , we were served with courtesy and manners ... we played pool on the fantastic hexagonal table , the drinks were at competitive prices for pubs these days .. Facilities are always clean (how anyone can say otherwise don't know ) .... I can't say much more , other than to urge people to visit if you've never been , and if you have been but haven't for a while then please pay a visit and keep our local pubs alive , otherwise before long we will have no socialising other than on electronic instruments of the like I am using to try and persuade you all to put aside for a couple hours now and then ... thank you for listening ... please pay Roy a visit .. the Theobald arms is so nice and part of grays town history .... we will be going again as soon as we can ..

Good choice of ales usually four, great place for a quite pint while admiring the vast array of beer they have previously served above the bar.
