Restaurant was quiet Fri afternoon but we liked that - airy & light with huge windows and beautiful view over the bay. Note it is within a caravan site and there are a lot of those evil little barriers to navigate before you can park.nWe really enjoyed our time here, it felt relaxed and the young waitress was very personable, we didn't wait long for the food either.nThe food was beautifully presented and mostly very good but with a few surprising letdowns: the focaccia with prawns open sandwich had delicious prawns in a lovely homemade mayonnaise dressing with nice salad on a very dry, pale-white roll barely deserving of the name focaccia, with some very uncalled for margarine on it.nThe chicken on flatbread dish was absolutely lovely and the mackerel salad starter also very good. The Belgian waffle dessert however was v disappointing, it had strange hard sugar lumps in the quite small waffle and too much sugary strawberry sauce that ruined the taste of the maple syrup. I'd suggest serving the maple syrup in a little jug and omitting the cheap red sauce not mentioned in the description so I couldn't refuse it. The whole dish was far too sugary, also whipped cream was lacking. I'm applying high standards here as the food is fairly expensive.nStill four stars as most food, service, ambience and views were great for us.
We had seen this pub from the beach when we were here in the summer, so booked a table to eat while visiting this time. Found out when arriving it was part of a large caravan park, lots of speed bumps in the park, leave a bit of extra time if you book! Wheelchair/disabled drop off area. It was busy in here with Christmas parties so would advise booking. Dogs only allowed outside on the patio. Food was nice but expensive, staff were very busy.
A group of 7 of us are here during the festive period. Very good service and the food was great, well presented and very enjoyable. The atmosphere was as you'd expect in a well lit beach front environment. The place is only dog friendly outside so do bear that in mind. Highly recommend good value for money. Roughly £40 per head with starter maina and dessert with drinks!
As soon as you step inside, it's a wonderful Xmas atmosphere. We were served drinks by santa and wowed by the food and service. We had a fantastic meal, loved it .
The Tavern is tucked away inside a caravan park but can be used by none park guests like us.nnWe were a group of 8 with 4 kids and we were welcomed and served great throughout.nnThere was lots of choice on the menu and some great selections on the specials board!!nnThe kids meals were also good with a good range of choices and decent value for money.nnThere was also a good range of drinks available.nnThe restaurant is really nice, with great interior and lighting on an evening! Toilets were clean.nnOverall a very good experience and we would return if in the area again!!
