Popped in for a quick pint as I had heard a lot about the tavern .. it’s all true !! The pub is very quirky and a fantastic atmosphere, the staff are brilliant and the food is first class. I will definitely be going backFood: 5/5
Came upon this fantastic pub by chance and were just blown away. The interior is a warren of cozy nooks to seat groups small and large. We sat indoors but the garden courtyard also features lovely little cubby holes. Decor is eclectic with walls and ceilings covered in all sorts of art and quirky objects. The real highlight however was one of the very best Sunday lunches I have ever had. From a very appealing menu I chose roast belly pork which was meltingly tender with perfect crackling. Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, delicious gravy and a selection of vegetables. Service was prompt and welcoming and we had the bonus of a lovely jazz duo which added to the experience.
Had a lovely meal here tonight with our dog Daisy, staff very welcoming and attentive and food very nice, would highly recommend, thought it was a small pub but lots of rooms and little corners, giving a great atmosphere, quirky decorations. As we were leaving we got a send off like we were regulars but on our first visit. Thanks everyone for a great evening, hope to be back again soon.
This was our first time at the Market Tavern despite having lived in Melksham for 28 years . We had heard really good things and wanted to see for ourselves . We really enjoyed it , it is very quirky with little private nooks to sit in . The service was superb ,very warm and friendly and the food was great .Food: 5/5
Love popping into this pub, staff polite and nice atmosphere. So we have been back twice since this review and ventured inside! I cannot compliment this pub enough EVERY person who works there are so nice, engaging and again polite. The first/second visit we had the “High Tea” OMG this was absolutely amazing it really is a must. The third visit was a Friday lunch time and I had the Liver and Bacon, it was delicious and yes, just like my mum used to make, himself had the Burger and Wedges and he said it too was delicious too. We love the little booths, lighting and all the small antiquities makes it a very interesting place. Thank you Market Tavern, we cannot wait for our next visit.
I am not normally blown away regarding a place but this place I was Fabulous interiors Amazing food Fantastic staff so friendly, matt so friendly Cosy atmosphere A real must for a quiet drink or a friendly get-together Love the outdoor space each individual nook with its own bell for service
Wow! What an amazing place. Introverts heaven so private, every corner is a seperate booth. Drinks amazing and so was the food. Photos a bit off as the lighting is all orange, which just adds to the atmosphere. We had starters of curried potato soup and pate. Mains we had ribs and burger. No room for desert. If we ever come back this way again, the only place we will stop.
Lots of tables in booths. Very private dining experience. Full bar. Very good food. Generous portions. Will modify the menu items to make gluten free or vegetarian. Very accommodating to people with dietary requirements. Well behaved dogs allowed. Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarians and people with food allergies.
What a gem of a pub!! Visually stunning inside with an amazing food and drink selection. The staff are totally beyond compare.Food: 5/5
What a great find in Melksham. Came for lunch with my parents and it was a really nice place. Lovely service from the team and the beer and cider was lovely and cold. The food was very generous and fairly priced too. The cheese on the sausages was a nice idea and the wedges were really well cooked. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and for sure, the next time I'm visiting I will pop in and try some of the other dishes.
