Having gone 'out of season' a number of the small exhibits were missing or opening hours differed from the overall zoo which accounts for loosing one star. I hadn't visited for well over a decade and parts of the zoo reminded me why however other areas have been really well developed to show off generally smaller species that suit the available space better. Some visitors may miss the headline big animals but when you see the lion walking around and around the same small loop you have to understand why it's not appropriate to keep them anymore. Overall a fascinating visit with plenty of interest for everyone.

Bristol Zoo is an excellent day out for adults and children alike. There are plenty of attractions and activities to keep children entertained, but (particularly on a term time weekday) it's also a nice afternoon out for grown-ups. The grounds are very well laid-out such that even when it's busy, it doesn't feel too crowded. Staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and seem passionate about their work.

Had a wonderful day. All the staff were helpful and knowledgeable, they answered all our questions and seemed to genuinely care. The atmosphere was lovely and the animals look well cared for. Excellent value for money. We will definitely return.😊

Lovely day out with two young children. Some areas are under redevelopment an are without animals. However the animals present more than make up for any absence. The staff are very friendly professional and informative. Take a picnic if possible as they provide covered seating areas that are private and relaxing. Other activities are available in the gardens that add to the day out but at additional cost. Overall good value for money today 2 adults 2 children £48. Parking only £3.00 for all day which in our case lasted over 5 hrs.

Beautiful zoo, amazing experience, loved every second there, so many amazing animals, and they are all active, so you're not just seeing a sleeping animal like in most zoo's. Even saw the lions roar!! Love the walk through experience that allows you to get up close and personal with the animals, at no extra cost. Would love to pay to have one of the experiences next time!
