It’s a lovely place just to go eat and if your seeing a musical just a pit stop before a show and the food was lovelyFood: 5/5
Great place to eat before a show. Definitely need to book table. Food took a while but didn’t matter. Lovely pies and fresh veg and potatoes. Friendly staff, got a discount because going to show next door.Food: 5/5
Had steak an ale pie - it was delicious, just a tad overdone on the top pastry. The chips and vegetables were also very tasty, but the swede was unfortunately rock hard. Food was reasonably priced and was served within good time. 2 large glasses of red wine cost over £17 which I thought was hideously expensive, but apparently that's just Leeds prices ??? It's been a while since I've been out in the city centre! Staff were very friendly and there was nice outdoor seating with heating.
I've been here so many times, fish and chips are my favourite and it's never packed and you're never waiting ages for your meal. Staff are always welcoming and polite, and food is always nice.Food: 5/5
Came for a Sunday roast service was quick however at first both got served beef when we ordered pork, staff were more then happy to fix this but when pork finally came had the smaller slice of meet which was literally one mouthful amd the gravy was so peppery that it was actually spicy.Food: 2/5
Good atmosphere, great food, great service. Will definitely go again should I be in Leeds. The disabled bathroom needs a deep clean or refurb, definitely needs a mirror.
Nice little bar, good selection of beers plum porter is especially good and tasty locally sourced food. Sunday roasts, bar games and a piano available for a tinkle. Adjacent to the City Varieties music Hall and you are able to take drinks into the venue or pop into the bar for the interval. There is also a small outside seating area for when the sun decides to shine.
Nice busy pub at the side of City Varieties. Called in for pre theatre drinks. Good selection of drinks. Friendly staff. Good for pre theatre meals.Service: 5/5
Popped in for a quick drink before the City Varieties. Nice pub, tucked out of the way. Small cocktail menu but they do 241 on Fridays 4-8pm. Have to say despite the nice surroundings the bar staff really looked like they wished they were somewhere else.
We expected usual pub food but were impressed with the presentation and the fact that the dishes were full of flavour and colour. We're also chuffed to see Yorkshire produce on the menu, highlighting the fact that they support local businesses and that the ingridients on our plate didn't travel far either. The chocolate tart with Northern Bloc vanilla ice cream was absolutely delish. You have to try it guys! Definitely one to visit, and we were a bit sceptical before the visit, but the staff is very welcoming and caring, making sure they get as little contact as possible and always follow social distancing rules. Top lads - thanks Rob and Reece for having us! Maybe our experience is a bit biased as we were sat outside, chilling on a sun and enjoying cold beveragino, haha.
