We booked this hotel for the in laws based on the reviews and we can only confirm the positive reviews and the good experience. The rooms are clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. Breakfast in the mornings is served and is plentiful and there is a good choice to choose from along with tea and coffee or not chocolate. There are juices available as well so there is something for everyone. In the evening you can eat in the pub or there is the attached restaurant the ugly duckling which serves great food and some more choice. The beds are nice and comfortable and provide for a good night's sleep. This is a great place

As it was the only restaurant open in Lydney that day we walked in a bit reluctant. But the atmosphere was good. The weather to eat outside in the garden terrace just fine. The food however was even outstanding! We enjoyed the fish and chips, burger and the children had the signet pizza. Also the desserts were absolute a delight. Go and have a meal there and convince yourself! The prices are really reasonable, even cheap if you compare it to the perfect quality

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was also superb. I would recommend the bacon grill with bubble and squeak .
