Typical Sizzler Fayre like so many round here The Wernley The Amber Tavern The Stag and Three Horseshoes and The Court Oak Bob and I had the 2 courses for £4.79 which was good except that the lettuce was burnt and brown and Bob's Gammon was gristly. Otherwise excellent value in convivial and decent surroundings

Came here because I was really hungry and couldn't find anywhere else to eat. Probably wouldn't go back here for food. You definitely get what you pay for. Not bad good but definitely not great.

went today husband ordered steak and chicken combo asked for a plate not on skillet. so chef took it upon himself to leave mushroom and onions off it. asked where they were to be told they will do them. in mean time husband food was cold waiting for them. I had eating mine. pub manager was on holiday so spoken to a young duty manager. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH SERVICE. HAD REFUND ON HUSBAND MEAL EVENTUALLY. SO HUSBAND HAD NO FOOD

A group of us meet up here about 2 or 3 times a year and the food and service is generally very good. We had an issue once just after the pub had been refurbished (it looks great by the way) it was particularly busy and we waited we'll over an hr for our food. Staff were very apologetic and we have been since and been more than happy

The stag is a brilliant pub on a Saturday afternoon if you want a pint and follow the football. As well as having a lovely reasonable priced meal well worth a visit
