Visited on Boxing Day for a family meet up - and had a lovely time. The food was good and well presented. We were asked to order ahead, which was no problem, and there was a slight delay in being seated after arrival but the food was brought out in a timely manner. Staff did a great job over a busy festive period, and the decorations inside were lovely.
Absolutely amazing. For drinks and two delicious courses for two our bill was £58. Very reasonable. Stunning decor, beautiful food. The staff are very friendly and professional all smartly dressed and well mannered. Live music which was excellent and just the right volume. Great choice of drinks too. Would definitely book here again!
The staff was helpful in making the choice of meals. Service was pretty fast. Good choice of beverages. The steak was not good tough, more resembling tire than meat in texture. Everything else was fine: pleasant atmosphere, nice interior, cozy, clean. But overall bad experience for a restaurant with such a high rating.
Lockdown doesn't have to be uncivilized! Absolutely 100% recommend Spencer's on the Square Grazing boards, from their new 'Take Out' menu. An excellent delicious selection. I believe the Focaccia is from the Saucy Pizza Co, so it's wonderful to be supporting 2 local businesses. And! You can get take out cocktails too! Sophisticated take out ...perfect!
Very very disappointed this evening. We regularly visit Spencer’s and it’s the only night me and my best friend meet up- once a month. I travel an hour to get here and we’ve had a booking for this evening for a month. We turned up and the manager was just locking the door, he explained they were short staffed and they’ve taken the week out. We haven’t had a call or an email which I find appalling. Luckily we enjoyed a lovely meal at No. 5 around the corner.
What an amazing place. It not only looks great the staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. We had a nice family celebration. It was great to be together after a long time and Spencer's made it extra special. Thank you very much.
Absolutely out of this world! The best dinner, service, drinks me and my partner have had for years and years. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection, the best I've had in my life. Friendly staff with a stunning venue make this the place to go for a great meal. Thoroughly impressed and will be retuning monthly from now on. Thank you so much for a beautiful evening guys, we enjoyed it so much.
Wonderfully decorated within a clean environment. Female waitresses tucking in their tops and adjusting bras at the side of the bar was a little unnerving however service from the manager was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary meal. We were overcharged and took a month to reply to our email complaint but we would still recommend this restaurant!!
Was here a long time ago, delicious coffee, but desserts are not so impressive, unfortunately.
I've had many meals at Spencer's ranging from breakfast to meals in the evening, all very nice. We booked for Valentine's night, our first night out together for a while due to work, so we were both really looking forward to it, especially being Valentine's day, but we were very disappointed, not just the night, the disappointment started a week before, staff ringing up endless amount of times asking "what would we like to eat on valentine's night", I for one don't know what I'd like to eat a week later, this wasn't just once, closer to the night the calls happened even more. After looking at the menu I was even more disappointed, for the price we were paying and all you got offered was chicken, fish, and steak, and most of the dishes were accompanied by tomatoes. Apart from paying the nominal amount I'm sure a cover charge would be added, something I disagree with, the the service and food are good I've not problem in giving a tip and surely the management would learn by this. Not many tips and you know something needs changing. Nothing special, potatoes with fancy names. The only thing what sounded nice was the sharing dessert. I'm sorry for not turning up,, but for the price and what you offered it was just a rip off, because it's a special night it's not an excuse for putting your prices up
