This was a fantastic station to both depart and arrive at, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains! The design has vintage architecture, navigation is easy through the signs and the subway helps too. Departure boards are clear, information is provided to find the town centre and cleanliness had been maintained!
Orrible dump of a place, its a surveilance town, damn things everywhere you look!! And its just a one horse town size of a postage stamp!! And the effin place floods all the time!! But its got and getting thousands of new shoddy builds, all water going into the river, to enable flooding more and more, id say find somewhere better to live
Retford is a lovey station that is on a sharp curb meaning that all the train drivers can see you meaning that you can get a lot of Train Horns/ Tonesnn
Thought I'd add some photos of the parking process as there's not much info on line. I didn't park at the station because I was worried about having to pay by an app didn't know what app or how to use. So I parked at Victoria Street car park for £5. However if you do need to park at the station it doesn't look that hard, there is a machine so you don't need to do it on your phone, phew!
The most inhospitable place to wait for a train on a saturday night. No waiting room, no refreshments. Cold and isolating experience.
