An hour or so self guided tour of Hastings caves. I feel it’s a little over priced for the hour but understand they have to cover overheads. Some really interesting facts and history of the caves/Hastings. A nice day out if you are to include other sightseeing trips in Hastings.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It’s a very atmospheric place, a bit spooky in the beginning but nothing scary. Children loved it, but I’d personally love to see actors dressed as pirates and some interaction with them
We called in while on holiday in Hastings and spent an hour looking at a place of sone local history. Lots of steps, not a place to visit in a wheelchair. Excellent, helpful staffVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We visited here as part of the 3 attraction purchase. It was different, and worth a one off visit. We learnt a little about smugglers and life back then, which was interesting. It was bigger than we expected. We took our 5 children here, ages ranging from 4-9. They enjoyed the interactive parts.
A lovely little place to visit and hear about the smugglers from the area back in the day, we came along as part of a day trip to Hastings and thoroughly enjoyed it! We had planned to visit Smugglers Adventure and the Bluereef Aquarium, which is nearby, and were pleasantly surprised to see an offer for a "three in one" ticket for these two plus Hastings Castle, which we didn't get to, but did enjoy the first two. Whilst not massive, this is a great little cave and well worth the visit - good value for money, especially when combined with the other attractions - well brought to life and lots of information.
a local place of historical information. I enjoyed it as well as the kids. videos could do with alittle updating but happy all the same.
Had a visit here a few days ago, and was trying to recall the last time I visited here, and it must have been some 30+ years ago..!! A lot has changed since those days, and they have made the caves a lot more interesting with the advances in modern technology and LED lighting... It's a good experience and worth a visit, with some informative history into the past uses of these caves...
Quite funny. Much details about the smuggling life in 16th to 18th centuries but can have more information about how this sandstone cave was formed.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Visited on a wet and windy day. Got there at 10:50 and no queues walked straight in. Different story when we came out with long queue. A very warm welcome at the entrance, and time made to chat. Good signage around the cavern, lighting and visual displays added to experience. Maybe a bit dated, but liked the feel and experience. Well organised for Covid with hand sanitiser regularly available. Toilets on site were closed, but we'll aware of this beforehand. A torch might be useful as it is dark in some areas. Our walk around took just over an hour.
Loved this. Underground caves, very dark and a bit cold, a bit scary sometimes, informative. I do recommend to buy a small torch at the entrance, easier to navigate and walk because sometimes, actually really often, you dont see the floor, too dark. So with torch you will know on what terrain you're walking and you'll be aware of every step and uneven surface.
