I saw a documentary on Norman Wisdom on TV which revealed Norman grew up in Deal.. I saw on Google there is a restaurant which is named in tribute to Sir Norman Wisdom. I surprised my wife with a visit to have a lovely early morning breakfast in Deal as we are great fans and wanted to experience the tribute to him. We really enjoyed the breakfast with refillable coffee or tea and very polite and helpful staff who helped operate the drinks machine. There is an outside eating area also. There is plenty of options on parking nearby. The town centre is nearby including the beach which is just a bit further away. A great experience to be repeated.
Cosy Spoons. Ordered the vegan bangers and mash which came with Quorn sausages.. pretty nice! Could have done with a little more gravy if I’m being harsh but my baked beans sauce ensured that my mash wasn’t too dry. Also a big fan of free tea refills. Stayed nice and warm in here with a hot plate of food and bottomless brews. Staff were very friendly too.
Good food, very cheap! The staff is super friendly too. Too bad they throw you out if you can’t verify yourself after nine o’clock! I’ve had this happen 3 times now and it drives me mad. I think they try to stop groups of young people acting up but I just go there with my family and friends. 2 stars from me.
Lively atmosphere. Very nice fish and chips. Fairly priced. Friendly staff.
A fantastic Wetherspoons! It’s the best value for money in Deal, there is a reason why the lacklustre yuppie wine bars and other pubs of Deal are empty. This spoons is the pied piper of the town, offering fantastic feel good food and a large selection of drinks. A full English breakfast from £4.50 with refillable hot drinks at £1.76, no wonder you can’t get through the doors during the majority of the week. Staff are friendly, service is fast and tables are quickly cleaned. The only thing I’d change is the seating layout and furniture, I’m sure more could be done to improve space.
It was quite busy and we had to move a couple of tables for family meal. We had to wipe tables to sit down which was disappointing. Once food was ordered on App it arrived promptly and it was as ordered, hot, and everyone was happy. Drinks arrived shortly after and again all good. Staff did not really engage but responded positively with requests made.
Found the tables inside where not cleared quick enough from ex dinners. We checked 2 other tables which where both sticky and dirty before we sat down after moving some plates onto another table. I had fish and chips i was not impressed with a the small piece of fish. Very flat. A member of staff did remove the plates on the other table after we had ordered, but never came back and sprayed it try to clean it. I now think that whatever was served up I wouldn't be happy with it subconsciously. We should had just walked out when we realise the tables where not clean when cleared. A cleaning program should be implemented and put in place.
Always a good to for a cheap but yummy meal or drinks. Always lively on the weekend. Staff are always friendly and food and drinks are served quickly even when busy!
Nice spoons nice staff decent food
The usual fare of drinks and food served in a pleasant enviroment with interesting decor theme. Problems with lift make access difficult as does a table in front of the accessable toilet. Nice beer garden thas secluded and reasonably quiet.
