I've driven past this place for many years and finally went in this week to try out the menu. It was good, being midweek (a Tuesday) it was quiet so easy to park and no rush to eat up and get away from the table. The set menu has a good selection and reasonably priced. Service was good, attentive, not slow or intrusive. At the weekend I see it is a very busy place so for me it's an ideal midweek place to eat good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Great place for a celebration or a nice afternoon lunch. Attentive staff that make you feel welcome. Great food and a nice atmosphere. I have only ever known it to be busy, bustling and full so worth calling plenty of time in advance to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

Another fantastic Sunday roast at the shepherd and dog! The best gastro pub/restaurant hands down. Only thing I could possibly fault is the selection of colouring crayons with the kids menu!

Been numerous times, food is always very very good. Can be very noisy, difficult to have a conversation especially when the bar area has entertainment next to restaurant. We try to choose quieter periods as you cannot fault their food.

Local cosy pub/restaurant. Everything was prefect. The landlords and locals were so friendly. 5 star treatment!
