Love this wee shop - it has a great range for crafts. I shop there specifically for cross stitch, but tried my hand at one of their embroidery packages. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the shop has a lovely atmosphere.
Visited to buy fabric for dressmaking but they have mostly cotton-based fabric for upholstery and crafts. There is a good selection of these. The lady was negative about what they had to offer us and offered no alternatives. They offer a selection of wool and tools for knitting and crochet also. I expect that for basic crafts and tools, this would be a fair place to try. Back to Edinburgh Fabrics for us! The satnav guided us to the back of the shop where we parked in a disabled space with a blue badge but we had to walk up through the alleyway to enter by the front door.

A fantastic variety of wool, fabrics and all things haberdashery. Easy access entrance with plenty of room to get around. Great selection of Christmas fabrics are available. Various workshops are scheduled from October with very reasonable prices covering several crafts from beginners to experts. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly with smiley faces. I would highly recommend this store without hesitation.
This is a brilliant shop with a great selection of wool, material and other craft supplies. It’s well laid out and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a pleasure to go there.

First visit with a friend who was looking for a specific item and found it at a very reasonable price. Well stocked. Big selection. Would definitely recommend.
Had what I wanted and there is a great selection...... but the guy serving me wasnt very pleasant when he asked me if i wanted 4.5metres instead of the 4metres of linen that i asked for. There was going to be only half a metre left on the roll but being on a tight budget at the moment i simply couldn't afford the extra and to be left with spare linen i couldnt use but was told...its just going to be left laying here. I had to say more than once no thankyou i only need 4metres.
A breath of fresh air. There are just no more shops around anymore that do what this place does. Everything is on the internet now and people do their buying online. We really need shops like Sew Yarn today. So glad we found them and we will definitely support them. Five stars are well deserved. Good and friendly service from people who know their stuff. Thank you.
it's a nice place to buy any stuff for craft and sewing! But it felt a bit overwhelming to me but I would come back to have a better look.
