Cosy, friendly, excellent food both in the pub and in the restaurant at the back. A good choice of local beers and whiskies. Great cocktails as well. The Sunday roast is to be recommended. One of the best places for a quiet night out in St Andrews. Very busy in the Summer season with golf tourists. Popular with faculty.

Always a pleasure to visit. It's a small place, which is part of its charm. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and food is exceptional without fail. I live locally so have not stayed at the hotel, however based on my experience of everything else the Russell has to offer I can imagine staying would be most pleasant indeed!

A cosy little hotel on the scores with wonderful views and serving great food. Get a room with a sea view and make sure you're down for breakfast in the morning. Friendly staff from all walks of life and clean, well equipped rooms. We stay here whenever we visit St Andrews as it's not only a great wee place but also very well priced compared to many alternatives.

Warm friendly welcome. Sat next to open fire for a meal. Food was the best I've had in St Andrews. Pulled pork croquettes and then lamb to die for.
