Excellent Joules beer and a very nice roast beef lunch. Food could have been a little warmer but apart from that all good. Nice place and friendly staff.

Popped in for Sunday dinner. Glad I did too. The food was fantastic. I had theroasted hake. My lady friend had the beef which I was told was cooked to perfection. I saw the biggest Yorkshire pud served too. They have a young chef there who is showing some true talent. Will be returning back.

Lost a bit of its charm sadly.. Have been going to the pub for years and in winter have always been met with friendly faces, great atmosphere in a warm environment.. Sadly the new owners don't seem to have the same standards, bar was luke warm at best, didn't feel like taking your coat off, seats were freezing, fire was barely alive, when we ordered drinks the young staff weren't very welcoming and when I ordered the seasonal ale by its name the reply was rude, confused "what?" they only sell a few ales so not hard to remember I'd say... Were thinking or ordering for food when we walked in but no menus on the bar anymore to take a look at too.. Shame.. Lot of stiff competition in Eccleshall which we took advantage of, shape up or ship out I say..
