It's really a wonderful and great place to enjoy yourself with friends. And the place is good for date and hookup. If you want to make yourself or your friends happy visit this place THE ROYAL GEORGE is One of my favourite pubs. It's tucked away and has a coo and quirky atmosphere with a good selection of beers. Also has comedy and music nights throughout the week if that takes your fancy. The staffs are smart and friendly. I will visit again soon.
Recently reopened, this hidden gem of a pub just off Charing Cross Road is a lovely place to spend an evening. The team were exceptionally friendly, and I overheard lots of old locals saying how happy they were to have the pub back open. Some decoration has been done but the pub has kept its charm, with plenty of eclectic design touches, neon lights more to come I'm told, and comfy but quirky furniture. Drinks were tasty and poured with care, and the food I saw going out looked very appetising. All in all, would definitely return for a pint or three soon!
Great atmosphere, amazing staff. The staff went out of her way to make an amazing mock tail for my sister, who can't have alcohol. We all found this place by chance, and it is definitely worth the visit. The aesthetic is definitely a mix between 60s to 80s with the neon lights and tall sofa chairs. Comfortable regardless. Very good spot local to TCR Station
Tottenham Court Road  £6.60 Camden Hells An oasis away from the madding crowd . The Royal George is located in a quiet side street just off busy Charing Cross Road. The nearest tube is Tottenham Court Road which is only two minutes walk away. . This pub was established by 1731 as the George and at 23 Crown Street, Soho. It was rebuilt in 1887 in Charing Cross Road and again rebuilt in 1977. . As this pub is set back from Charing Cross Road, most people tend to walk past and not even notice or pay much attention that a pub is actually located here. The pub has tried to improve its awareness by having two large pink signs above each floor to advertise its whereabouts, when I was looking for the pub, I must admit the signs worked. . The decor in this small and cosy pub is quirky and eclectic. There are pink walls all around with Georgian oak panels along the back wall of the pub. The seating consists of poser tables at the front and regular height seating at the rear. There are a couple of large TV’s on the wall which weren’t on at the time of visiting, this pub does show live sport like Six Nations Rugby. The servery is a good size which can be accessed from all sides of the bar. Downstairs there is a snug basement bar if the main bar gets a bit hectic. . There was a good beer selection on offer with craft options as well as mainstream brands. I opted for a pint of Camden Hells, my pint was nice enough and cost was above average. The food menu had lots of comfort options to choose from, fish & chips was reasonably priced at £14.50. . The atmosphere on this Sunday afternoon was chilled and relaxed. The pub was fairly busy, most punters were at the rear of the pub enjoying the pub grub. The soundtrack was downtempo American rock which got the old foot tapping. This pub offers entertainment throughout the month, there are Comedy nights and a new one for me, Ukulele Wednesday’s. . I have always found that pubs in and around Soho always have an air of mystique about them. The @royalgeorgesoho also has that feeling. This pub is definitely worth a visit to get away from the tourist hotspots. . ℹ Info correct on visiting 22.01.23
Friendly bar staff love the pub, nice colourful lights in there
Fell in here at a quiet time, gave me a chance to see what the place looks like! A great pub and venue just off Charing Cross Road, surrounded, at the moment, by scaffolding and various building site bits and pieces. Don't let that put you off! It's a great place for a beer or six. Live venue downstairs for all sorts of entertainment. Drop in and have a lovely time. Add an extra star for the spicy chicken bites, thank you Chef!!
Staff were super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The bar is a hidden gem with a great selection of alcoholic and non alcohol drinks. Food was well presented, tasty and had a great selection for sharing. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is nearby. I will be visiting again very soon!!
It can be a bit of a nightmare trying to find a decent pub in this area of London. The Royal George is a hidden gem - almost literally as it’s tucked down a little street very close to the station. We had a lovely time! Great food, great staff and a fantastic atmosphere. We will be back!
At the end of a slightly unpromising alley behind an old-fashioned façade that could do with a lift sits a real find right in the centre of London’s theatre land and close to a multitude of interesting shops and attractions. The Royal George has a good vibe and extremely friendly staff who make it their business to look after your drinks and food requests. Would definitely recommend a detour down this alley!
Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Even can have a dance time with your friends on Fridays. Quite a lot of seating. I come every other Friday to meet with new friends and it is always a blast. Good selection of drinks and food.
