We booked a table for 5.30 on Easter Saturday as wanted a nice pre theatre meal. Glad we booked, it proved to be very popular. We loved everything about The Rose and Crown. The ambience was great. The food was great, and very reasonably priced. And the service was absolutely brilliant. The lovely young woman who served us was very aware that we had theatre tickets and managed to ensure we had the courses we wanted and even timed it right for coffee afterwards. She was a star. We’ll be returning. 🙂

Great Local pud with Good food & great choice of real ales & other drinks. Good pool table in its own space & secluded dining areas serving home made meals. Good hosts Sarah & Chris make all welcome including dogs. Annual beer & music festival not to be missed.

My partner and I went in Saturday afternoon and sat near the fireplace to keep warm and after 10 minutes we were asked to move because the seats were reserved for eating. I asked where the signs were saying that the seats were reserved and there wasn't any. I told him it was inconvenient and unfair and he said he didn't think it was and insisted. I used to use the rose and Crown with my friends and family regularly but I won't any more if this is how they're treating locals
